The Lyn 2-4-2 locomotive comes with a DCC plug which has has a blank plugged into it. The instructions do not indicate what Sound decode is to be used. Can you help me?

Hi rdbtrains,

Although I am not an expert on DCC, you should be able to use any DCC decoder with sound.  The socket in the Bachmann products is a standard socket.

I am sure our DCC can answer better than I have, but I have responded because so far no one else has.

Although I haven't added sound my Lyn, I have been working on adding modules to my other locos this year.  I'd recommend checking out SoundTraxx's website as I know they apparently make a lot of sound modules for Bachmann models.  Chances are though that you may need to acquire additional hardware in order to install one into the Lyn.

Is it the 8 pin NMRA socket?

I doubt that Soundtraxx would list a decoder for the LS Lyn, since (as I remember) it has what people consider an "HO socket"
