Coupler type for the HO scale Durango & Silverson set

The locomotive & tender that came with my original Durango & Silverton set have been damaged beyond repair - and with the advice of the Service Department I looked extensively on-line for an exact replacement using Bachmann Item # 51313 - without success (at this time Bachmann has no matching loco & tender available separate from complete sets). 

Soooo, to my question: as I look for another 2-8-0 loco & tender set to use for these cars, IS THERE A PARTICULAR TYPE OF COUPLER I NEED TO BE LOOKING FOR TO MATCH THE REMAINING CARS IN THE SET? Since I'm new at this I don't know what to be looking for, but my impression is that even among Bachmann HO scale sets there's more than one coupler type.  Thanks!
