EZ Track remote switch extension wire

I have several crossovers and turnouts that I need extension wire to operate. I found that the newer wire does not work as well with the switches as the old thinner wire does. Does anyone have any ideas since the only extension wires now available are the ones that don't work for me. I might be doing something wrong but I have them hooked up just like the older version and the older ones work properly. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about wire only? Or wire and conecters that go with it?
