ESU Loksound Decoder instal in Bachmann G Scale Forney

Hi, need some help
Has anybody installed an ESU Loksound XL Decoder into a Bachmann G Scale Forney.
I thought I had everything set-up OK, but when loco is running I press a sound function button the loco stops dead.
any thought on this?
