BLI 2-8-0 and Bachmann easy dcc

I hace an BLI 2-8-0 paragon. I use a digitrax system. one friend uses a MRC prodigy. the loco operate great on both layouts. This weekend I took the loco to another layout where the Bachmann easy DCC system is in use. The loco only runs at a fast speed. Why?
