Hiya Bman,
I've picked up a few 4-6-0s on Evilbay and have started detailing and weathering them. I'm trying to find a source for decals of popular and obscure RRs. Any ideas? Anyone have left-overs? Also looking for some metal parts to replace the plastic ones, like grabrail posts.
Thanks

Bruce,

Hop over to largescalecentral.com and look for Stan Cedarleaf.  He does a great job with custom decals.

Thanks Bob,
I will definitely check them out. I found some great pics online of an engine in ET&WNC livery that is THE Bachmann 4-6-0 but with more details which I will be adding to my engine(s).
   Thanks again.

Hiya Bob,
Checked out Large Scale Central. Thanks again. Couldn't find Stan Cedarleaf or anything about decals. I'll try again later. Also found Green Diamond train decals through ebay but they are WAY expensive, or is $30-$60 for two sheets the going price? That's a ways down the road anyway.
   Back at'cha.

You can contact Stan Cedarleaf by e-mail.  His e-mail is [email protected]

Contact Stan, tell him what you are looking for and he can give you a cost estimate.

Stan does excellent work. He is very responsive and gets the job out to you in very short order.

Just don't get the idea that you can get quality decal sets for a buck two-ninety-eight.

Stan Cedarleaf is on mylargescale.com  He is very active over there.

I have had him produce decals for me several times.  They are excellent and his prices are reasonable.  We have worked together to make the decals that I needed.

Here is a thread on Mylargescale.com that if you go through it you will see how I modified stock LGB ore cars with Stan's decals.

http://www.mylargescale.com/Community/Forums/tabid/56/afv/grid/afgt/mytopics/Default.aspx

If you cut and paste this into your browser you will see it.  There are several pages to go through before you will see pictures of the DM&IR decals on the cars.

Doug:

When I just clicked on it I got the same result you did.  I must have copied only part of the url.

Sorry about that, try this link:

On my PC you can click directly on the above link.  If it is blue you should be able to get to it without cutting and pasting.

Just checked it and it seems to work for me.  The pictures of the cars with the new decals are near the end of the thread.  You will have to scroll through several pages to my August 1, 2009 comment.

Stan Cedarleaf's Cedarleaf Custom Railroad Decals website is found at:

You specified decals, but another lettering option is cut vinyl. This material can be used directly, or can be made for stenciling. Del Tapparo provides the service to make vinyl lettering. Del's G Scale Graphics website is found at:

Del also makes great control systems.

Try contacting Minute Man Decals, P.O. Box 1411,  Clifton, CO  81520-1411.  I picked up a couple of sets for ng equipment via ebay.  Have not istalled them yet, but the price is right.  The owner sent me a list of decals for a SASE.
