Hi
has anybody put a DCC decoder into the little Davenport?

I cann't find more information as where I have to plug in the 8 pin connector?

Makes the 8 Pin connector possible to controll the light and the smoke unit by a DCC function?

Is the Davenport with a in-plugged 8 pin DCC decoder able to programming and changing CVs?

Thanks you for every help.

The Dec 2008 Garden Railways has a product review. According to the article, there is a NMRA 8-pin socket on the circuit board located under the removeable hood. Slipping, the loco drew .79 Amps.  So any decoder intended for the smaller scales should work, as they are rated for 1+Amps. There is a space for a speaker under the circuit board(1.5inch) so installing a sound decoder should be easy. I would caution against running the smoke unit under DCC with a smaller decoder. There is a on-off switch on the circuit board to turn the smoke off.  Large scale decoders , such as the LOKSOUND  XL V3.5 would handle  everything including the smoke unit. Any decoder you purchase will have instructions on what CVs you may change and how to do it.

Hi Jestor,
thank you for your answer.
The most important hints I got from this website
http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips10/davenport_tips.html
Now I'm installing a Zimo MX 640 Sounddecoder. I'll do a sounddesign specially for this Zimo Sounddecoder in this Bachmann Davenport. You can get directly from me or look in some month by http://www.zimo.at/web2007/content/sound/tableindex.htm When I've done the job you'll find below US Dep.
Sincerly
