converting a DC loc to a DCC loc.

Hi,
I understand that a DCC decoder wired to the motor wires should never have any connection with the chassis in DCC operations.
When I check my motor contacts with a meter I see that there is about 47Kilo ohm resistance between the contacts (brushes) and the shaft that goes through the motor. There is no way I can insulate the motor shaft from the brushes. The shaft is mounted inside the metal motor housing. So it is all metal on metal.
Can anybody help me.
I have a Minitrix 12860 loc and would love to make it run in DCC operations.

P.S. Does anybody know where I can have it done? I have a TCS Z2 decoder.

If i were a betting man I'd say that 47Kilo ohms will not do anything to the decoder, so you shouldnt have to worry.

But the shaft doesn't touch the frame so you are fine.

Yes the shaft does touch the frame. The motor casing has a metal bushing where the metal shaft goes through. This bushing is mounted in the chassis of the loc. That is the way the motor is mounted.
