What would be a good track spacing for ON30. I want to be able to run the largest ON30 locomotives. Thanks, Ryan

    I have a pair of the MMI K27s in On30.   Because of the way the cylinders stick out at the top,  I needed a minimum of 3.5 inches on center between two parallel,  straight tracks.   Now,  that distance may need to be greater if you put two tracks parallel on some sort of curve,  and the tightness of the curve will also be a factor in the distance.
     What I did was to put a piece of cardboard,  like what comes with a new shirt,  down with one of the K27s on top of it.   I then marked a basic outline of the engine and created a template.   Of course,  I made two of these templates.   Then,  wherever I planned two tracks next to each other,  I put down the templates,  which,  by the way,  have centerlines marked on them,  to confirm my spacing was sufficient.
