Yard Boss Trains do not connect

I just purchased the Yard Boss N Scale and two of the four trains have connection issues to the other trains.  You can tell that they barely connect and, of course, they disconnect within one lap.  Should I consider those trains defective or is there a secret for those?  I have tried them in different order but those weak points always disconnect.  Thank you!
