I use old Athearn blue box diesel motor pic up bars that get tossed in the good junk box when it is hardwired. It has strength with a little flexibility. Measue ,cut and dill out the holes and done. Recycle parts is a must in this hobby!

They're also handy for making area 'bus bars' for building light power feeds. One for the 'hot', one for the 'return'. Drill holes in the end tabs for mounting under the table. Add feeders from the main power source, then bring the building light wires down and attach. They stand clear of the table enough to wrap the bare wire around before soldering.

The bronze motor clips from old open frame motors are useful for making axle wipers on lighted cars.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.
