EZ-Command Functions

Ok, so ive had the EZ-Command (original one) for a couple of years, and ive known about being able to turn the lights of locos on/off with no 10 in function mode. The question is what do the other ones control? Ive just notice with one of two locos i have (it has a Lenz Gold Mini Decoder fitted), that no 3 reduces its top speed considerably, and no 4 changes the speed at which it decellerates/accellerates. Do the others do anything? if so what, ive randomly clicked them but got no response from them.
Also my second loco has a TCS M1 in it, and the only function button that does anything is no. 10. Im guessing that is just to do with the decoder (what it is capable of).

Dear TC,
With a sound decoder, Function 1 is bell, 2 long whistle, 3 short whistle, 4 blowdown, 5 dynamo, 6 water, 7 coal, 8 on/off. If you have DCC turnouts, the group of eight is assigned address 9, like a loco, and 1-8 control the respective turnouts.

You have guessed correctly.

What happens or does not happen when a Function Key on any DCC system is pressed depends on what is assigned to a Function output in the decoder and if the command station is capable of activating the Function.  The E-Z Command Control Center does not support Function 9 even if the decoder has something assigned to F9.

Also, with some decoders, the value programmed to some CVs determines what happens when a Function Key is pressed. This is covered in documentation supplied with the decoder.
