I haven't run my garden trains for a couple of weeks, and the brass rails looked oxidized. Although it took some time, I went over all of the rail with 1500 grit sandpaper. Just to insure good conductivity, I put on a couple of drops here and there of Whal oil. Nothing, no engine, will pull anything except downhill. My ten-wheelers won't even pull themselves. I spent quite some time wiping off the oil. I now make sure that I water the track along with the flowers. Maybe, in time, I will get enough oxidation to get traction. I'm not new at this. I just over-reacted. I thought that everyone might enjoy a morning laugh.

That's a lesson learned Doug! Save the Wahl oil for the beard trimmer. Next time try a bit of CRC 2-26 (found in the electrical aisle of most home box stores). I use a bit on the pad of my track cleaning car. Its great stuff (and plastic compatible) and does not effect traction on the 3% grades of my stainless track.
