Atlantic Central

One of the modelers in our group models a logging line and has several copies of the Climax - he has not reported any problems and they seem to run fine eveytime we operate his layout.

The other Spectrum locos do not fit my layout theme. I am also still considering the 2-8-4, but would rather someone come out with a good model of a heavy Mike like a USRA Heavy, GN O-8, or DT&I 800 class. We will see.

I have even considered kitbashing a freelanced modern heavy mike from the Berkshire.

Here on the Atlantic Central we pull both passenger and freight with the 4-8-2's

Other power includes 2-8-8-2's, 2-6-6-4, 2-6-6-6, Reading T-1's, 4-4-2's, etc.

No 2-10-2's or similar long wheel base locos, our mountainous route does not like such curve unfriendly locos.
