Why replace the chassis when you need to buy a new engine to get a new one.

Hi Woowoomowrer,

When you state "Broke" what exactly is broken on yours?
I don't know if another manufacturers' chassis would fit under your Life-Like shell.
I would guess all F7's would be close and might require minor surgery to fit.
I just looked on eBay, several LL F7's on there.
You could use one from there as a donor.

I don't now how it would be with an F7. I did a swap with an HO F40PH. I had a cheap Lifelike Amtrak one but it wasn't DCC. I found a Walther's one in an off the wall road name that was really cheap. I had to grind Walther's chassis down a little to make it fit but I now have a Lifelike F40PH with sound.
Maybe you could find some cheap junk F7 to see if it fit before you spent money on a good one.
