2 Truck Shay no go

I recently purchased a Shay it sits on the track with the light on and I can hear the motor running but it doesnt even try to turn the motor doesnt turn the gears.......Anyone?

If you just purchased the engine new you should contact Bachmann for a warrantee repair. 
If it was used can you see if the Pistons on the side are moving up and down so we can help identify the issue.
