Tender with the USRA 0-6-0

If I purchase an N scale Bachmann USRA 0-6-0 at my local hobby shop or on line ( new ) will it come with the new version of the tender that has all wheel pick-up or is that still a separate purchase I would have to make?

The 0-6-0 is a standard line loco, the new tenders are spectrum line, so yes, it's is a separate purchase.
I'm not sure if the tenders are still in production but you can still find them easy enough.
It's not as easy as just disconnecting one tender and connecting the other, there is some minor surgery involved.
You will have to modify the drawbar, but it's still a simple and easy swap, and well worth the effort.
