mogul 2-6-0 and full size tender with smoke

The above steam engine smoked when first purchased. When run on christmas it did not smoke.
My question is: How do you remove the loco shell? The back end seems loose but there is a screw or something still holding the front. Please contact me and if you have a number to call and walk me through the removal it would help.  I will neec to know this when serviceing the product.
