I always liked these, my father scratchbuilt one in HOn3 40+ years ago that is one of my favorite of his models.

Funny, I had a similar but different thought.....

Take the HO model and adapt the drive train from the Liliput-Stangel (Bachmann Europe) 2095 class H0e diesel and have the model in HO and HOn30....

There is one thing in large scale on the Japanese Shima Models website that has not been listed as a new relase.

However, there is no stock number, so not sure if this was something only from the dealer?

They do not show on the Bachmann order parts section either?

There are a slew of nice Baldwin 3' gauge prototype fodder out there, hopefully we will see more......

While I have no (personal) interest in the mallet, I am sure it will be a good seller and looks very nice.

I listened to my new Lenoard Cohen CD today (the recent Capitol release of his 1967 debut album) in hono(u)r of it.   I guess I could run up to the Publix and get a Coffe Crisp bar too, so happy that someone has them in Nashville, TN now!

Unfortunately, the trend even in the smaller scales is "bigger is better" for whatever reason.  The small locos would (I think, but who am I) fill a void.  I have always been a fan of smaller locos, so there is a bias I guess.  The current side tanker Porter is nice, I have one along with the saddle tanker that are slowly getting a few odds and ends detail wise.

Some good options in your list, but the light early Porter was already done by Accucraft in brass, with another relase this fall, so maybe not wishing to go there, dunno.....

Working with what Bachmann have some tooling for already:

I would hope that the Climax would be on the short list, maybe even a backdated version with oil box headlamp and wood/steel cab?

And maybe Bachmann took note of the Porter and Bell project of the Bachmann "Indie"  on My Large Scale?

An updated 1:20.3 version of the 2-4-2T Baldwin would be nice too....

I use a home-made supply into an Aristo TE.  The basis of my supply was a 18VAC 10 amp transformer found on eBay fed through a bridge with a capacitor and fuse.

Before this, I was using (don't laugh) an ancient button type Lionel pack set at +/-18VAC.
