Hi,
I just received two brand new 3-truck Shays and was wondering why they were bad runners. After a close examination, I found out that the wires running from the cab to the tender are binding on the wheels of the center truck. This forces the tender to derail in sharp curves if the engine is in reverse. Wouldn't it be useful to notch out the frame a bit so the wires are further apart from the wheels and axle?
Regards,
Erhard
