recently purchased this engine. Will not run. Is equiped with DCC. Motor humms, but when I turn the power off the worm gear rotates bout three times only. When turning the power on then off it will rotate the opposite direction only about three turns only. The engine will not run under normal conditions. What do you think is the problem?

Thanks to all that have responded. I too saw some of the same problems mentioned, but was hoping for that someone maybe had found a way to curb this issue. Again thanks

This engine comes DCC ready, but has no place to plug in a sound decoder. How do I add sound to this engine?
