HO / Re: Spectrum dash 8-40cw parts help please.

Thats part of the problem these were sold no return they were sealed units. So not really on the seller. Kind of dissapointed that documentation states lifetime warranty but call them and they cant help. If a company goes out of business thats one thing but for a company to put Lifetime on their warranties  and then not keep parts or honor it. Is horrible. Reciept in hand may have been discontinued but it is a brand new purchase and should be honored.

HO / Spectrum dash 8-40cw parts help please.
December 16, 2019, 01:09:37 PM
Hey I have just acquired three NIB spectrum locos the undecorated dash 8-40cw.
Upon unsealing the first box. The front right truck side frame is completely missing. I called Bachmann. Got the responce no longer available and was told to ask here if anyone had this part available. So much for a warranty. Shame is i have two more sealed identical ones. Hope they arent missing anything. Thanks for the help if you guys can

I dont care how cheap an engine is. If its truelymelting or distorting shape from the heat then call and send it back this is clearly a material /workmanship problem as this is an electrical iem regulated by UL and could possibly cause a fire. dont hesitate to send it in. they will take care of you. there good people plus its got a lifetime warranty.

I have the same set. I don't think the wheels on mine hang down that far. It looks like your trailing wheels are connected to the chassis. I'm pretty sure mine are attached to the body. I'm not completely sure if they should hang that far, but it derailing on 18" radius should not have anything to do with the trailing wheels.
when did you get yours my parts diagram show one your describing with the wheels attached to the body being spring loaded where as mines only two weeks old are attached to the chassis with no spring preload and it constantly derails at any given moment not at particular section which one might expect with a track problem

I'm having a problem with mine as well it seems the pilot and trailing trucks on the loco arn't spring loaded as described in the parts diagram, they are simply connected by a short rod with no down pressure and constantly derail, i spoke to the tech department and will be sending them it shortly. you'd think they would correct problems rather than changing them for the worse. they also said " that the overland limited set was a cheaper set" at retail over 200.00 with no extras included and using steel track and plastic wheels on stock. I think its more like expensive box with cheap junk included. (  jmo) The only reason its not there yet is I'm thinking of returning It to store . ps the couplers suck as well  and just to clear it up early track is level connected correctly and i'm been model railroading for 30 + years
