i do have anyrail downloaded.  what i noticed was all the different curves and straights so   that's why i asked what track came with a set so that i would know what track build my anyrail design with.

I just bought a used Bachmann Old Tyme Village Express set without the box.  I was wanting to do some track planning but i'm not sure what the factory numbers are for the straight, terminal, and 12 curve pieces.  i've been looking all over for something with track numbers but cannot find.  any help appreciated.  jeff

i'm trying to go smaller so i can get a little more depth.  i guess if sound is going to be an issue, i may go with n scale and have lots of room.  do they make "sound" boxcars like they do with o guage?  jeff

Currently, I have an o gauge layout.  on a 5' x 10' all i have is turns.  i just can't continue to build on.  i need to switch gears to a smaller scale.  I just got back from the black hills in south dakota and i'd like to model that area.  here are my requirements:
  i am interested in track that clicks together like fasttrack.  i stink at sodering, ect
  i need an "old timer" passenger train set
  i'd like sound.  i'm not into electronics so i'd prefer to just by a set and extra track

any suggestions?

what do you clean the rails with?  just a generic "track cleaner" and a cloth?  my first attempts were very flustrating with my rails getting dirty.  I'm not sure I had oiled them though....

what's the difference between the Nickel Silver E-Z Track® (with gray roadbed)  and the Steel Alloy E-Z Track® (with black roadbed)?  which one requires less "maintenance"?  In the past, I've laid the cheaper flex track and contantly have had problems with the track needing cleaned.  I'm looking for zero maintenance if at all possible.  wasn't sure if the nickel or steel alloy would be the way to go.
