Very similar color scheme I thought !!!!

Hi Bill,
      Welcome back to the Forum. I have checked out the speaker, Battery Voltage, connections to the board and all is good. I would like to send it back to Sierra and see if they can repair it but they arn't replying to my emails. I have the right address as per their website but nothing returned as yet. I'm still hoping they might be able to do something with it as they are a great sound card. Made my old Climax come alive.

Merry Xmas everyone,
             I have a Climax that I purchased in 2002 and its still going well. I fitted a Sierra Sound card in it and it also was going great until recently when the sound just stopped. Battery is good, LEDs light up, good speaker, but zero sound. I have sent emails to Sierra but no reply as yet. Question is, are these card repairable?

Thought I might put my two bobs worth in here. I have a 3% grade on an 8 ft curve and my Annie will pull 3 coaches and a box car up, on a good day. You could add 1/2lb of lead ballast to to the Loco and get extra traction but that only loads up the drive gears which are not keen on that sort of extra effort. I have a 5% grade on my Logging track and the Shay and Climax pull 5 to 6 log cars up with little trouble. The 10 wheeler struggles to get up that sort of grade with 3 pieces of rolling stock.
  My newest creation,a Garrett, will pull 14 cars up a 3% grade, but at a price. The Garrett is over 3ft long and Heavy.
    Ive only been into Railroading for 50 years+ and have lots more to learn, but I would recommend that you keep your grades as gentle as possible.

Get hold of a Heisler Boiler and Chassis, two Porter drive units, a bit of kit bashing, and its a goer. My next project, if I finish the one i'm doing now.

I have just done a drawbar test and I got a reading of 3!/2 lb at half throttle. She started to slip then. Maybe I should fit some sanders!

     I am building one as well, using the Annie Chassis, but its no where near finished. Is yours Track or Battery powered? I have mine running and I would be interested in how much Drawbar pull yours has.

Well, I for one, would be interested in seeing your list of 2-5 thousand models of Narrow gauge Locomotives
that Bachmann might consider Modelling.
   I thought this Forum was for people to express their ideas on topics of interest, not to be told they are utterly
ridiculous.

You have raised a good point there Bob. I guess Bachmann will eventually run out of Narrow Gauge prototypes to model, after all, there was only a certain amount built. I see them consolidating on what they've got and improving on the detail and running gear on both their Locomotives and Rolling Stock
      They could do things like, make the couplings more scale size and a little more positive in their coupling action. Spoked wheels look great, as the prototypes had on their rolling stock. Sprung Bogies ride a heap better
as well. These are not big expensive items but they make the appearance, and performance of rolling stock better.
        There is an abundance of Narrow Gauge Steam Locomotives that were in use in other countries as well. Here in New Zealand we were deeply influenced by The Baldwin design of Locomotive and being all narrow gauge 3ft 6in, there is lots of them. We were first to have the Pacific and Mountain Class Loco and they were very successful. Check them out on the Web.
          Anyway, just my thoughts on the subject

Think I jumped the gun a bit. Had a look on the website and it looks looks like the sound RX is different and there is no custom installation plug listed. That will make it tricky.

                If you go into the Revolution website there is a download with all the instructions for lights and sound triggers etc. It must be easy cos I managed to install 3 of them and they have all been a success, so far.

Put a "My Loco" sound card in. I have 3 Locos with it in. You can change the whistle pitch and adjust the chuff rate to suit, and, they are made in Ozz.

Hi Jerry, if you are going to the trouble of installing a Revolution in your Loco,why not spend another $20 and fit Li-ion batteries and save yourself the constant problem of track cleaning and polarity problems on reverse loops etc. Bachmann Locos are really easy to convert to Battery power and will run for hours on a set of Batteries. Loco Bill is the Guru on Battery power,so I'm sure he will be able to steer you in the right direction.
