HO / Re: Steam engine suggestions

These are the engines that I'd like to see:
ATSF 1800 class 2-6-2
ATSF 3400 class 4-6-2
ATSF 900 class 2-10-2
ATSF 5011 class 2-10-4
ATSF 4000 class 2-8-2

If they're going to make a high quality 2-6-2, I think a good prototype would be a Santa Fe 2-6-2.  There's plenty of them surviving, so it would be easy to get details.

For ballast I use rainbow fish rock that I found in my local Pet World.  It isn't rainbow colors like blue green and purple, but it's about the same color as real ballast.

HO / Decapod takes a fall!
April 02, 2011, 04:04:47 PM
Last year, I purchased a Spectrum 2-10-0 Decapod with DCC and sound.  This last Christmas I had it running on my Christmas layout, and one of my dogs knocked it over (luckily, it was okay).  After that, I put it on my kitchen table.  My naughty cat, John, knocked it about 3.5 feet down from the table onto the tile floor!  Some of the detail parts, such as the footboards and a couple pipes broke off.  Also, the wires connecting the loco & tender split open a little.  I tried soldering these, but when I tested it, there was still a short.  Would you be able to fix it at Bachmann?

I really like the NCE stuff.  The NCE Powercab, which is the NCE starter set, can run 3 locos at once, but they do make a 5 amp booster.  One of the upsides of it is that it has a handheld walkaround throttle.  It can also control all 28 functions.

HO / Request for the Bach-Man
February 19, 2010, 11:08:43 PM
Bach-Man, I have a request.  Can you guys at Bachmann make a Spectrum HO Santa Fe 3400 class locomotive?  I know you always give multiple road numbers, but can the DCC Sound road number be 3415?  And, could you use a heavy steam sound decoder from Tsunami and use the SP 6 chime whistle?  Thanks a lot if you reply.  ;D

Some are hard, others are quite easy.  None are impossible.   What do you want to convert (manufacturer and model?)

Jim
I was thinking a Bachmann Standard Line GS-4 and a Rivarossi Challenger.

Do the standard line 2-8-0's still have DCC/Sound?

HO / DCC Sound Whistles 2

Do you need to hook up the E-Z Command Control Center to your computer to change whistles on Soundtraxx Tsunami, and do you need a special program? ???

The CV 115 is used for whistle selection, cv 129 for whistle volume
How do you get to CV's on E-Z Command (just the regular controller)?
