I have been using #6 atlas code 100 turnouts.  I can't say I like them but they generally work.  Trains just run rough through them.  Any suggestions or favorite turnouts out there?  Anyone tried walthers?  Or how about the #6 or #8 code 83 turnouts form atlas? 

So I have an older 2-8-0 and need a new smoke unit.  I called bachmann and they don't have one but will trade my engine for a new one for $40.  The new one won't have smoke, too bad.  I like my old train with smoke and I have already converted it to DCC and put in front and rear 3mm led lights.  I just want a smoke unit.  Does it have to be this hard??  I'm getting nowhere with bachmann.  Any ideas??

Just hard wired a 2-8-0 consolidation with DCC/sound.  Also replaced the headlight with 3mm LED.  Everything working well but what to do with smoke?  This train has smoke and I would love to be able to turn it on and off.  Any suggestions on which dcc controller I should use next time so I can control smoke?  Considering installing a micro switch under the tender.
