i like the larger size of the 2-8-0,4-60,compared to the mallet,which is dwarfed by the pass cars. i run a fictitiuos class one railroad in on30,as a subsiduary of the P.R.R,so these units are quite at home,love the motion in slow motion,smooth as. have two mallets  that have different drawbar pull,i.e. 1 pulls more cars than the other.any ideas on why?

i have three climax locos,two that keep  losing the grip on the shafts at the universals. i have tried super glue at these points without success. is there another solution. also.none of these like the climb on my switchback layout;not enough traction,need a solution.

 wouldn,t a 2-6-2 tank loco be a nice addition to the fleet

what do u need to do in order to change from the original system to the infrared system,i.e locos,decoders etc.

hi gang,have checked out the 2-6-6-2,as to kit bashing to on30. for those of you who have one,compare the ho loco to the on30  2-8-0. it is almost a perfect match .should not be difficult to achieve a creditable loco using this source of body. can anyone advise on the steps needed to remove the ho body,to start the conversion. regards graeme

hi guys,have kitbashed two moguls into a mallet(bachmann 2-6-0,s)with only the rear driving.not bad,not good. just purchased a bachmann 2-6-6-2 with tsunami sound,with full intentions to convert to on30.ho loco runs well on my layout with 17 inch radius. hidden in tunnel. consider  what could be  done if you place the ho mallet against an on30 2-8-0.i have both & am intrigued with the possibilities.i run bachmann exclusively,off the shelf. the only ring in is a bl-c16 with sound. would welcome some feedback on this conversion,using spare bachmann parts like cab,domes,stacks,etc. i am scratch builder./kitbasher with 35 yrs in the hobby.regards graeme
