HO / Re: Multiple DCC Boosters ?
March 05, 2013, 08:39:13 PM
Thanks to everyone.  I guess I am a victim of READING to much.  Glad I asked here before I went out and spent money on more boosters.  Now I can use the money to expand my Dynamis system with another control unit, or two.

Thanks again.

HO / Multiple DCC Boosters ?
March 04, 2013, 03:54:44 PM
Now that my railroad is running great on with the Dynamis system.  I am switching most of my turnouts to take advantage of the increased capability.  I am sure I am going to go over the 5amp limitation of the single booster that I now have.

How do I add more than 1 booster to the system.  I cannot locate information as how to wire it all up.  I will have over 50 turnouts once it is all finished.

Advice etc... PLEASE.

WOW!  I never expected to get so many replies with such great information.  I have printed it all out, and now I will spend the time between now and the big show reading and re-reading it all, and then go with what will work out best with my bench work.

I thank everyone for all of their help.  I greatly appreciate it!

HO / Multiple Tracks on Curve
February 17, 2013, 12:15:37 PM
I am working on an extension for my layout, and in doing so I am running 3 lines down the basement wall.  When I reach the end, I need to create a turn around and in doing so, I am a bit stumped as to how to determine the proper way to keep the 3 tracks in alignment as I make the curve.   The minimum radius curve I use is a 22 EZ track (black roadbed) but I know I will need to go to the gray roadbed, but have no idea what so ever how to determine what to get.  I just cannot find a chart or anything.

My local 2 day train show is approaching, and really need some assistance so I can take advantage of the "bargains"

Looking for more of the expert help, I always find here.

thank you.

So if I understand you correctly the consists will work as they are.   How to I get the Dynamis controller to know the correct button, or will the button number be the same ?

Am still very confused.

HO / Switching from EZ Command DCC to Dynamis DCC
June 30, 2012, 07:40:30 PM
I finally made the plunge and purchased a Dynamis DCC wireless controller.   My railroad at the moment runs under the EZ command controller.

What is the easiest way to get my already programmed locomotives under the EZ command system over to the Dynamis command system?

I also have the 5 Amp Bachmann booster.  Even though I have read the online manual, I am still a bit confused as it is not covered; but am I correct I can just use the same cable that right now goes from the 5 Amp booster to my EZ commander controller; remove the EZ command controller and connect that cable to the connection in the Dyamis control module?

But as I said, I am in the most need of getting my ALREADY programmed locomotives over to the new system.  I have a consist of 3 and 2 consists of 2.  All work fine, now, and I want to make sure they will all work fine after the change over.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

HO / New Chick with lots of questions

To start with. I have created a layout using Bachmann EZ Track.  It is rather large 5'x10'  The top is level and smooth.  I have one older Non-Bachmann Engine that I will one day learn to convert to DCC.

The rest of my engines are DCC (Bachmann) and I have the one non-DCC Bachmann engine that came with it's own powerpack.

I under stand the connection of the power pack as far as the DVD goes.

BUT...  How many actual connections to the layout should I have providing power? and to that end to assure that they are all correct (no shorts) before I dare put an engine on the tracks.

Running as DC, I have found I have no problems except when I go over a turnout (switch), then the engine might go once over it, or twice but then it derails.  It is not all the time, but it is a sure thing that the train will derail over some switch.  NON of the radius' on the layout are less than 22".

I also have a pair of Bachnann EZ Track #6 Crossover Turnout's  It makes no difference changing tracks or going straight there is a derailment.

There is a jumper on the underside, for power.  Does this have to be used?

I was told that there is a frog or something that can be removed for more reliable operation.  What is that?

At the Cleveland Greatest Hobby Show I was told to throw away the Bachmann turnout controller and get one that would provide better power to hold the switch in a certain position.  OR to just get spring loaded manual throws and use them.

I have more, but this would be enough not to get laughed at when a few friends come over this next week.

thanks!
