Was wondering what was meant by "Assorted?"  The parts page states that "Only Seaboard #2485 roadname available."  Does this mean that only the Seaboard shell is available or are other shells available undecorated.  I am in need of several Southern shells (no need to be decorated), if they are available.

You all are forgetting about the Erie-builts offered by Concor.  They were designed and tooled by a company called V-Line and were intended for use on the Concor PA/PB models.  Were pretty good for their time but may not have sold very well... Concor has never reissued them.

I have advocated for quality (not necessarily accurate) N-scale passenger car models for 15 years on the web and decades elsewhere.  My N-scale Varnish has been a great forum for sharing information on and ideas about how to model passenger train equipment in N-scale for those many years (being the second Yahoo1 Group that I founded... the RR Caboose List being the first) and it has led to more accurate models being produced.

Even Bachmann has seen what a more accurate model can bring, what with their retooling of the Amfleet I models.  Make no mistake about it... I am trying to help Bachmann make some money that then can be invested in other new models... not trying just to satisfy my own desires (I can't use these models... they are too modern for my freelanced roads).

As shown, thankfully just an Engineering drawing, the lounge area of the observation is too small as far as the windows go, being the same sort of thing found on Milwaukee Road Skytop observation cars and one Illinois Central Modernized Heavyweight observation car (which later received additional windows in the observation lounge area).  Producing a more accurate model would not only make Bachmann some green but would please a lot of N-scale modelers, even if it is not necessarily accurate for their own chosen prototype.  Basing the model more accurately on the New York Central Budd observation cars (the only Budd observation cars that had the larger windows) would spark a lot of interest in the minds of modelers, making for a very successful model.

I can only hope that Bachmann will make some changes so that their model is truly a good one!!!

Saw the announcement in the .pdf file that was posted about the new releases and noted that you intend to do a Budd sleeper lounge observation car.  The design shown does not match ANY prototype Budd car but there were similar cars that were built for the New York Central that had the large windows in the observation end of the car.  Please do the car right... without the extra windows in the lounge area it is nothing more than a round-end solarium car with no obvious prototype.  It would be a shame to offer this car for what you intend to make off of it because you did not do the car right.  Contact me at jmlaboda[at]gmail.com and I can help point you in the right direction on what the car should look like!!!

The AS16 was the B-B unit...
the AS416 was the A1A-A1A unit (used extensively on light railed branchlines)...
and the AS616 was the C-C units (the middle axle is offset, just as it was on most ALCOs).

Is there any chance that the tenders for the 2-10-2 will be made available separately???  I could use a number of the Southern Railway tenders...

I believe that these could be valuable cars if made available separate from the motor car.  While it does look similar to other models they are yet rather unique, which could be enough of an appeal for a number of modelers to be of interest in them.

Well, since you  have been less than helpful so far Bach-man let me ask you this.  What does the ads mean when they say "separate domes and stack".  Does it mean that the stack and domes can be took off the model?  Sure would be a bit of a waste of electrons and typing if this is all that is meant.

A whole 21 models in stock... and that is only until later this afternoon when folks jump feet first into getting what is available.

Looks like the front coupler is a dummy... I just hope that it will be easy to change once a model is in hand.  For me I won't be able to try and get one until the end of January... and that is IF there are any to be had at that time.

  Then maybe you should relate this information to your dealers.  Brooklyn Locomotive Works sent out an email yesterday saying that delivery for December is questionable.
Are you being honest about delivery?  Or is BLW's statement more of the fact.

Actually we already have the makings for an USRA heavy pacific.  Using one of the Japanese 4-6-2 chassis and parts of the Kato Mikado (boiler, cylinders, cab, etc.) a person should be able to do a very good likeness with just a reasonable amount of work.

Have you seen the cast resin Pacific Electric cars that Miniatures by Eric are doing in N-scale?  The detail is truly great and at least some of the cars could have application elsewhere.  Also Imperial Hobby Productions has a few really nice cast resin shells as well.  The West Penn car is really a beauty.

This engine, like either the early or more modern 4-6-0, would be very welcome on my roster!!!

That is one I would be interested in as well.  It is a very attractive steamer and probably would be welcome even if a person wasn't modeling WM because of its looks.
