This is what I have, insulated at the turn outs. I would like to add this same thing into my existing reverse 'loops' As I said I am using DCC.and an auto reverse switch that makes every thing work fine now.The Idea is to end up with two passing sidings. Sorry my drawing is the best I could do

HO / Double cross over inside reverse loops
January 30, 2010, 11:44:16 AM
I have a crossover in my reverse loop so I can enter from any direction. More or less a long legged X between two tracks insulated at the ends of the legs. I use an automatic reverse loop switch by MRC. I run DCC. Can I add four turnouts at my cross so as to have two passing sidings that don't reverse with out any "problems". I cannot see any but wanted to ask before I go to tearing things up.    Thanks

HO / Re: electronic relay

My track work is complete so I didn't want to change any thing. Adding the snaprelay works perfect but as I said it takes up room and is too expensive when I need 15+. I was hoping there was a latching relay or some way to do this for less in the way of money and room. I thought we had something with the reed switch, but the need for the magnet stopped that. Thanks guys. Dennis

Does anyone know of a electronic latch relay a person can use in place of using a atlas snap switch to light indicator lamps for a turnout? Using snap relays is too expensive and takes up lots of room.

HO / Ballast
February 27, 2007, 08:17:22 AM
Can someone give me some advice on how to ballast track with a cork roadbed? I have put together a new layout but have never used ballast before as my old layout was with EZ track. I have put some ballast in the center of the track, but is there a trick to the outside edges? I have started with medium ballast, hope that is right.

Thanks

Hi. I have the MRC prodigy Advance and love it. Seems to make things easy as can be.

Has anyone used a Rix rail-it, and does it work well? Also a Rix magnetic uncoupler tool. I need something of this nature and hate to buy without asking questions.
Thanks
