Thanks for th eadded info. I was getting ready to order and see there is a recall on M-1 TCS decoders for the motor control according to their websites for ones from Novmber and December 2008, so will look for the Tsunamis in the meantime.
Thansk again. Will post up what I get and how it works out. Lee

Yampa Bob, I would like your thoughts about the sound for this loco as well, if you could copy me on the instructions you have, either post or email.
I was looking at putting th espeaker under the fans, as the lid (grills) comes off and in looking at the specs of the speakers there seems to be enough space in there for an oval standard 8 ohm speaker. Even thought to go as far as drilling out some of the space between the screening or looking for a replacement for it if the sound wasn't satisfactory but not overly enthused about that tedious work but if ya gotta then ya gotta.....

THansk in advance, Lee

Cool thanks. I hadn't looked on the TCS site. Had checked NCE, digitrax, litchfeild and TOny's. This helps a lot. Only question now is what about one with sound........

HO / decoder for HO SPectrum Dash 8-40C
January 25, 2009, 10:10:59 PM
Hi! Am looking at putting in some decoders in a couple Spectrum Dash 8-40C locos I have. THese are the new ones but not the DCC on board. It ahs the 8 pin NMRA plug on it. There is nothing on the directiosn sheet about what the light board for what LED 2 + and - are to go to. Adding ditch lights? Any issues with the boards as these have the slip on plugs, I have been told to cut the plugs and solder the wires on. THoughts about that?
Also has anyone done one of these and installed a sound unit in them? Any suggestions? THanks, Lee

Looks more like a web page problem than them not making them. DCC is on other pages.
