Question for the Bachmann,

Is there a wiring schematic for the new Spectrum Mogul? Specifically, what is the pinout of connectors PCB06-A and PCB07-A on the tender connectors?

I live at 7000 ft. elevation in the Front Range of Colorado. Our layout is 450 ft. of NS flex track that is free floating on ballast (breeze or crushed granite fines) and is DCC and battery powered. Track remains in place all year. I don't have frost heave in our area, but the track needs to be leveled and re-ballasted in areas in the spring. Debris from trees is a challenge, since there are large Austrian pines that border our layout and do shed long needles and do not present a sap problem. Snow has never been a damaging element to our layout. Hail storms that come with the monsoon rains in the summer can be damaging to structures and plant life. Living in high altitude means that the ultraviolet index is high and the effects need to be addressed. Make sure to use ties that are UV resistant (most all of them are today).

Re wildlife: mule deer and elk will cause damage to the ties and rails or any thing they step on. Unless you install a tall electric fence to keep them out, be prepared for problems. Raccoon, squirrels, rabbits, wild turkey, fox, coyote - you name it, all exist in the Rocky mountain region.

This says one important thing to me. There is still a demand/market for a brick & motor model railroad store. The new owner, Kevin Ruble is an intelligent successful business man that is also a model railroader himself. I'm sure Kevin did an enormous amount of market feasibility studies, before undertaking this new business venture. Soft market? I'll trust a professional's decision to move forward and reopen Caboose. Time will tell... but I'm an optimist!

Bachmann recently released an updated Mogul at the end of last year. I purchased one and am very pleased with the locomotive. The Mogul has all of the upgraded features that were offered on the K27 and C19 ( I have one each of those locomotives also). The point is  - if Bachmann builds a locomotive that has not been produced recently or not at all, then people will but buy it; assuming it's a "reasonable cost" !!

To quote the movie Field of Dreams - "If you build it, they will come". I agree with Greg and Kevin...

Personally, I would like to see a K28 and T12 built. As I told a Bachmann rep at the 2015 NGRC in Denver - "If both engines were available today, I would buy them". The reply I heard, was the same Bachmann reply stated earlier in this thread - soft market. I don't think that is a correct statement today.

I have the new Spectrum 2-6-0 Mogul, D&RG Raton and my locomotive has the same light status. The headlight operates and the firebox light flickers, but there is NO ash pan glow.

Based on the manual that came with the locomotive, on page 16 under "Smoke Box Switches". "There are two switches behind the smoke box door (figure 19) that control the following:
    >operation of the headlight, ash pan glow and firebox flicker
    >operation of the smoke generator

Could you please research if there is a ash pan light flicker feature or is this a manual misprint?

Did Bachmann use the same plug and play pcb on the Spectrum Mogul that is used on the Bachmann Spectrum C19 and K27?

Stated differently - Is the Airwire 900 plug-in decoder for the Spectrum C19/K27 compatible with the Spectrum 2-6-0 Mogul?

Is the delivery of the new Moguls being impacted by the Hanjin bankruptcy issue that has ships anchored off the coast?

What is the release date for the new Spectrum 1:20.3, 2-6-0 locomotive that is listed in the 2016 catalog?

Now that Bachmann has released a new version 3 truck Shay and 2 truck Climax, is sure would be great to see an updated version of a Heisler come out.
