Williams by Bachmann / Re: Motor Polarity

Thank you for responding.  I've haven't had an opportunity to try your suggestion, but using batteries to check the rotation of the motors is a great suggestion.  I'll let you know the outcome.

Williams by Bachmann / Locomotive Identification

Does anyone know anything about a set of Williams CSX GP-38 AA-103 locomotives?  I don't have a product identification number which doesn't give much to go on.  They're not a currently offered product that I've been able to determine.  I'm especially interested in determining if they're O gauge, scale or traditional/baby etc.  I appreciate any information anyone can provide.

I have a Williams GP-9 that I going to convert to TMCC using an Electric Railroad Cruise Commander.  Does anyone know the motor polarity (blue wire positive or negative) of the motors so I don't have to use the trial and error method?

Williams by Bachmann / Power Compatibility
March 30, 2011, 01:36:43 PM
I would like to a purchase Williams Scale Hudson (40201).  I run both TMCC and Conventional Lionel locomotives depending upon my mood.  My layout is powered by a Lionel Powerhouse 180 Watt Power Supply (6-22983) with the voltage being regulated by a Lionel Powermaster 6-24120.  The Powermaster allows you to either apply full voltage to the track, or vary it using a CAB 1 Remote.

I would like to know if this power setup will work without any issues with the Williams locomotive.

Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

Williams by Bachmann / General Information

Can you please point me to a location where I can obtain information about Williams Locomotives?  There aren't any dealers nearby, so I've never even been able to see one.  Specifically, what's the difference between Golden Memories vs Traditional Line?  Are they "Scale" size, that is Standard O vs Traditional O in Lionel speak.  I gather since the ads not say otherwise that they are all conventionally controlled, so are they AC or DC.  Are they 3 Rail or 2 Rail?  Can they be operated using a Lionel CW 80 Transformer?    I understand that these are a lot of questions, but try as I might, I cannot find any of this information on the Bachmann Web Site, so I would really appreciate any information provided.

Thanks to everyone for their information.

I may have missed this information on the Web Page and if I did I apologize, but I would like some basic information about the Williams O Scale Locos.
Are they Standard or Traditional O?
Will they work with a Lionel CW 80 Transformer?
Will they operate on Lionel's FasTrack, especially their switches?
I have gone through two Lionel locos and have come to the conclusion that they are basically junk.  If you want to display them they're fine, but if you actually want to use them they're useless.

Can the E-Z Command Dynamis Wireless Infrared DCC System completely replace the Bachmann 44902 EZ Command Control System?

The primary reason for the question is I have an EZ Command Control System (two of them in fact), but the transformer is only producing 1 amp, and if I read the information about the Dynamis system, it comes with a 2.5 amp transformer.

I've tried to find a PDF similar to the one for the EZ Command Control System, but have not been able to find one.

General Discussion / Couplers

Just getting started.  Would like to know if anyone knows if the couplers for Atlas and Bachmann rolling stock are compatible.
