Hey Tom!

I like the idea of wanting smaller engines, especialy a 1:20.3 version of the On30 0-4-0 Porter I would Love!

But the thaught of Bachmann releasing a K-28 or other large Locomotive has me happy! The K-28 is my personal Favorite locomotive EVER! Especialy #473 in the "Bumble Bee" sheme.

Of course I'd like to see some other engines to, like some D&RGW C-16s and C-18s. Heck, maybe even a C-21!

And on the note of 4-6-0s, what about a D&RGW T-12s! In terms of Ten Wheelers, I think there a very atractive locomotives. Both the strait stacked and dimond stacked versions!

In any case, what ever Bachmann releases next, I'm sure we will all like! ;D

I REALLY want one myself. The wheel base is perfect for a Project I'm working on. Building a Porter Bell Co. Mogul, like the ones used on the Colorado Central RR.

Well, I'm SURE Bachmann is making a Long Caboose! I think it was 05, mabey 04. But I went to a Train Show and Found the Bachmann stall and there they had a Prototype (made of wood) of a D&RGW Long caboose. The guy there even told me about it!

What about a larger version of the Shay? I like the T-boiler, don't get me wrong! But I'd find a 30'' Tapered boiler, 3 cyleder shay very atractive. Somthing like the ones Used on the Gillpin Tramway with the Pancake style stack? Or the Gillpin's "Russle".

I'll also vote for the Hiesler. Oooh, What about an inside frame 2-8-0!? Or what about an On30 version of the 2-4-0 J.W. Bowker? It played the UP engine "McPheirson" in the 1939 film UNION PACIFIC.

(I'm only twenty and I know a movie that old! LOL)

Another good pre 1900 loco would be I.C.R.R.'s #201, a Standard Gauge 2-4-4 Forney! An extremely atractive locomotive if I do say so my self. It would be right at home on any Shortline, Commuter, or small RR/Layout.

The K-28 #473 is my favorite locomotive of all time! Hence why I've based my #14 "Comanche" of my Gupowder Falls RR.

Its acctually based off of a Comic I'm working on. Any way, If Bachmann makes another "large" locomotive for their next release I vote for the K-28. But if its a Smaller engine, a C&S or DSP&P Mogul is what should be next.

Agreed! I have noticed that the Mantua 4-6-0 in a bit large. And Bachmann's 4-4-0s are a bit small. So I think that if Bachmann made Spectrum models of their "Old 4-4-0s" that they would be Fantastic models.

I'd second That! A C&S Mogul or the D.S.P.&.P. one. Well, the C&S moguls ARE the same as the South Park engines. The C&S just Rebuilt them after aquireing the South Park.

Now I'll throw this into the Wind. Now that Bachmann has realeased its K-27, what about a K-28! Although I'm quite taken with the K-27s, but my heart and soul belongs to the K-28. Especially the #473 in the "Bumble Bee" scheme.

And for those who don't know, THE BOX HEADLIGHT AND DIMOND STACK ARE PART OF THE SCHEME, EVEN IN 1951!!! I just had to say that cause' I'm sick and tired of people saying it was "Tourist Crap".

Any way, It would be nice to see Bachmann produce theme. Plus the D&RGW was NOT the only RR that used the engines! A railroad in Hawii used a few as well. The Owahu Rwy & Land Co. I think it was.

  From, WoundedBear.
"I'd like to see a 2-4-4-2 logging Mallet."

That would be a great addition to Bachmann's Fleet but didn't logging roads use 4-4-0s, 2-6-0s, and even 2-4-0s as well!

Oooh, a 19th Century 2-6-0 would make a very nice model!

Also, I knew that Model Power was Re-tooling the Mantua models. I also have one of the Tycoo 4-6-0s as well. And from personal experiance, have found both makes to be very similar. So if Bachmann were to produce a Spectrum model of it, its garentied to be of higher quality, not to mention that most likely it would ave complete cab interior.

Well, I'm still in favorof the Rogers. Although I was not aware that Mantua was still producing it. Even if on ocasion.

Going back to the 4-4-0s, I think that Spectrum versions would be popular. And could possibly boost their 4-4-0 sales. This is all a matter of opinion though. I also feel that in terms of scale the standard Bachmann 4-4-0 is rather small. Their closer to the size of the "A.G. Dewey", #1 of the Woodstock Rwy. in Vermont.

One reason why I whish to see more pre 1900 model trains is because I feel that there is a significant lack of both engines and rolling stock. And I know that modelers who choose that era can understand how difficult it can be to accomplish this. And for those who insist on this are, Brass is the only way to go. And many, like me, we cant afford buying brass without getting a loan!

So, if Bachmann were to produce more 19th Century Locomotives and Rolling Stock, it would be for the benefit of all modelers. I know that many RR's used equipment built in the 19th Century well into the 20's.

HO / Locomotive Suggestions!

I've started this new topic for the disscusion of new locomotive Ideas for HO scale. Personally I'm a BIG fan of steam and Bachmann does have an impressive fleet already. But what will be their nex loco?

   Dear, Mr. Bach-Mann,
To start this disscusion off, I'd like to say I'm quite fond of your HO steam fleet. Although, in your Spectum line there are no engines from Pre-1900. Your standard    4-4-0, for example the Jupiter, are very nice locomotives. But I feel they lack the quality of Spectrum locomotives. Acctually that is quite obvious. Now your Baldwin    4-6-0 is an extremly nice model. Although I do like early 20th Century railroading I prefer to model the mid to late 1800's.
The suggestion I have is for a 4-6-0, but this one is pre-1900. It is my beliefe that a Spectrum model of the Rogers 1890 4-6-0 would be a popular choice. Although it would be older it would still find use in early to mid 20th Century Railroads.

The engine was made famous by the movie "Back to the Future III", that way it is claer as to what locomotive I'm speaking of.

     Please reply back. *Smiles*

Large / Kitbashing a K-27?
March 21, 2008, 01:34:40 AM
Hey guys, I'm really excited about the new K-27. Although the engine is beautiful out of the box, my favorite version of the loco is the "As-Built" version. I'd like to modify the Bachmann model to match the sa built version. I feel the most difficult and most chalenging modifications would be to model the Vauclain Compound Cylenders, extended smoke box, and the large Headlight.

Do You Guys have any suggestions?
