Thanks Railsplitter and Trainman203 for the information and options for sound .
With 20/100 vision and an Optivisor , I do prefer RTR . Although on the On30 2-6-0 I was able to remove one screw and just plug in the sound card , and that works fine .   I am leaving large scale and outside trains , and now shifting to HO  [big size difference]  but I can still operate trains      and that's important to me .

my other Bachmann steam locomotives are great , with sound ,  and I would like several of any new Baldwin 2-8-0 Consolidations

I recently received one and am very happy and pleased with mine .   
Even with my really poor eyesight  , it was easy yo plug in the sound card , which provides great sound .
I have operated this new loco only , since I brought it home  .
It tracks well , sounds really good , and it has become my favorite locomotive to operate .      

now all of my HO scale trains are wondering , hey , whats going on ?

Om30 is sure easier to see
