The kit for the reversing point to point track has 4 auto-reversing E-Z tracks & 2 standard E-Z track? item 44547 page 142. So, why is add-on track need to be auto-reversing?

In order to add-on to this reversing track system to you necessarily need to use the auto-reversing E-Z track items 44547 & 44548? .....page 142 in Bachmann catalog.
