If you are selling as a private person you don't really need a upc code. Read the instructions carefully. I have sold many items w/o the upc code. Just skip that and see what happens.

I have two names at Bachmann you might try. James ,in customer service was helpful to me . The Service Managers name is Laura Harris. If you don't have the phone # it's 215-533-1600.
As far as "updated version"; I spoke with James about warrentee service on my very old 4-6-0 Big hauler battery powered, radio control engine and he said what they would do is replace it for me with the latest version track powered model. I just need to send them the engine and a check for $100.00. Sounds like not a bad deal but I have not done that yet. I may do so shortly. Good luck.

Thanks Loco Bill and Joe Satnik. I will try these suggestions. By the way has anyone tried to separate the boiler from the frame? I'm not sure where to start and that is the only way I will be able to add weight for better traction.

The right way is to purchase a new center wheel set but that gets complex as it is the one where the motor attaches and drives the gear. You could just very carefully epoxy the hex screw head (that's what it really is, not a nut) to the broken end of the screw and the end of the shaft that it is screwed into. There really is little stress on the screw head as the stress is on the shaft that carries the side rods. Another way might be to solder the screw head to its' broken shaft by tinning the end of the screw that's in the shaft and the back of the hex head and then putting them together and heating them through to face of the hex head. Hard to do as you need to hold them in position and ideally put pressure on them. You would need a good soldering gun. I think I would go with the epoxy as if it comes apart again or does not work at all you can always get a new wheel set. It might be a good idea to get a new wheelset now as if you wait until your repair fails Bachmann may no longer have it available. There are easy-out bits that size I think but you need to drill a small hole in the center of the stuck screw and that will be hard to do. Hope this helps.

I have a large scale 2-6-0 mogul,item#91554 that I recently bought new. I has a polarity switch which I find is virtually useless as most power supply/ controllers have a switch on them The loco switch does not have a center off position so I cannot isolate it on a powered section of the layout and run another engine. I have an exploded parts diagram with a wiring diagram but it does not show the color code for the wires going to the switch. I was hoping to cut one of the wires so that when the switch was in the "large scale" or "nmra" position the rail power to the motor would be dead. The wiring diagram does not identify what wires are what, just that they go to an unidentified spot on a circuit board. I guess I could just cut one of the motor leads and wire another switch mounted somewhere else into it but the exploded parts diagram gives me no clue how to separate the body from the chassis in order to get at the motor and its wires. I would also like to get it appart in order to add more weight as I have a pretty steep grade and the engine is so light that it slips with more than 2 cars.
Some other issues with this engine are--
The sound system when running at anything but a VERY slow crawl, has virtually no chuff, just more of a constant hiss.
The smoke system will not produce smoke except at very high speeds, I guess so that the smoke unit gets enough voltage. I wish the smoke unit was low voltage like 4-5 V, with a constant voltage circuit that would limit it to that regardless of the throttle setting.
Other than that the unit runs well and is very smooth. I got it at a very good price as I bought it from St. Aubin Hobbies the day they went out of business at the spring East Coast Large Scale train show in York,PA.. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated>

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I pretty much figured the same things you said. I just thought someone might have some other ideas.
One thing I may do is take out the sound system in the Hauler and try to put it in my LGB mogul.

I have a couple of questions.
Has anyone converted from battery power to track power by using sliding contacts such as on LGB and Pico?

Does anyone know a source for traction tires on this loco ? Bachmann does not have them- so much for Lifetime Warranty.

Is there a fix for the glitchyness of the radio remote control for these? I have two locos, each at different frequency's
