Looks good Caleb. The ballast looks a little large - but otherwise - well done!

... I can use paypal with Rails of Sheffield too. I have certain sites i use from here (US), the UK, and Australia. Model Railway Imports i'm iffy about, because of payment. i was thinking about using it soon though.
Model Railway Imports uses Paypal as well. Very simple - you email the order, he sends back by return email the Paypal link and you're good to go.

...The n scale windmill was actually quite cheap, hitting around $30.00 but I'm a member of a local train club so I get 10% discount there :) .
Sorry, but $30 is a bit pricey for a motor when I already have the Dapol kit - even with the 10% discount. But I hope it works out for you.

Sorry for double posting, but does anyone have any constructive critisim, any at all? I could do with some, because if I do this in future I'd like to know how I can possibly lift my game a little :) .
Well, since you asked - I really like the castle ruins and the placement on the layout. I do NOT care much for the huge boulders you placed around it. They might look better if they were set deeper into the scenery. But they honestly look like they're just placed on this hill, which, of course, over time, they would roll into the valley below.
Good idea with the N scale windmill. You might be able to make it work if you enlarge the doors. I've seen the same kit in my hobby shop and have honestly considered buying it just to get the motorized unit to put into my Dapol kit. But the price seems prohibitive. I'll be looking for other options.
Other than that, your layout is looking good.

Hi everyone. I have a few more pics of my layout. Enjoy :)

Here, I hope to make a tiny dockyard, as you can see Bulstrode. I hope to put in Cranky the Crane, too. However, it all depends of if there is enough room.
I've mentioned this before, but I really think it bares repeating... That track is WAY too close to the edge. Equipment WILL fall off the table - guaranteed. If you use flex track you move it back an couple of inches. No track should ever be closer than two inches from the edge.

I have the same Dapol kit (unbuilt) with the same plan - so I'm looking forward to see how this turns out. Good job so far.

I believe Tomy owns Ertl, and depending on where in the world you are, you might find the same product under either name.

Not sure about the models - but the only rolling stock that should be gloss would be passenger coaches. Since brake vans are part of the goods trains, it should be similarly weathered and finished flat. Take a look at the TV series. You should never see a glossy brake van.

Yes, but in my experience, it is a light tac that leaves little or no residue. Easily concealed by a little bit of weathering.

Not exactly an update, but trainspotting on my Tidmouth set.  :)

nice! - I like the couplings

I think the brake squeals were a bit much though. Other than that, the sound track was splendid.

Do you have a track plan? You could share that. Otherwise, we'll just wait and see I guess.

It might be more popular if there was something to look at...

If it runs well on your test track - then I am back to my original thought - there is something different about the museum layout controls.

Is there someone at the museum that would know what that might be?

I know on our museum layout, we can switch between DCC and DC. There might be something like this there.

I wouldn't do that. You'll end up damaging one or both of the locomotives. Have you cleaned and lubricated Thomas?

It really doesn't make sense that it shouldn't run better than that. Can you set up a test track with a dedicated power pack?
