What is the best way to install a track onto a sheet of plywood? I do not care for the "pins" the Hobby Store likes to sell me. Thinking there has to be a better way. Thanks in advance. Peace ya all!

Hi All,
I'm new here & looking for information. I just bought a Train set still in the box for five ($5) bucks at a yard sale. All five cars are still in unopened boxes complete with track. The Engine is SO cool! A Santa Fe (No. 307) nose painted red and back three quarters silver. Product code HO EMD F9 Diesel.
I am interested when this set was made. I'm going to give it to my great nephew for Christmas.
I can send pics. But I have not found this set on the Bachman site. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
