This is probably a dumb question and I probably know the answer, but is it difficult to add a short oil burning vandy tender to the 50' drivers Ten Wheeler?

Also, I bought a Mantua Logging Mallet with tender, that I'd like to paint and add detail. Where can I find a good line of detail parts?

I'd like to change the stack on the mallet to a sorter, T&P cap style stack and add other small details and paint.

Its already been mentioned loads of times before, and now its just getting old. Bachmann will never make him, so why not make your own like other people have done.

Yes,

Canada is famous for several excursion steamers, and some. If Bachmann made the CP Royal Hudson, Non Streamlined Hudson (2816), and a CNR Bullet Nose Betty, I'd buy all of them and re-letter them for my fictional railroad, however, keeping the paintschemes.

Canadian Nationals 4-8-2's and 4-8-4's could be created out of Bachmann models with modfication, but it would be nice if Bachmann would make one so we wouldn't have to modify locos.

I am american, but I love Canadian Steam.

Oh, I also ordered MTH's O gauge Railking Royal Hudson. It looked cool and I thought it would nicely complement the Williams CPR F3 A-A Set I have.

My late grandfather had a marvelous saying. It was, there are 3 ways of doing things. The Right Way, The Wrong Way, and the ever popular Half A** way (you can fill in the blanks).

You would do well to remember that. But I am glad you settled on a plan. Just be sure to throw in a steamer for excursions, you could do a Santa Fe 3751 or 4449 trip prototypically, because they both have been operated over BNSF rails, the 3751 especially.

Hmmm,

Well, I'm getting the 2-8-0 simply because I like it's looks and I wanted to detail it anyway, same for the 0-8-0, but, detail is not a big issue and pulling power isn't too much of an issue.

I was also planning on Buying a 2-10-2, but it was going to be the Life Like 2-10-2.

In reviews of BLI locos I've seen that with the traction tires added the Loco can pull noticably more on the charts.

Well, I tore down my Thomas layout and I would like to start and around the wall layout.

I was hoping to use code 80 track from Atlas, but I can deal with Code 100.

I really don't plan on running, say an 80 car Coal Drag of Reefer Hotshot, 30 cars would be my maximum, maybe 40, depending on what the locos can pull without slipping.

I really don't expect to pull 40 cars behing the IHC 2-8-0 or Mike if they can't pull it. I'd just give engines what they can pull.

Sadly, the cab a boiler are all one piece. Now, you could take the chassis and if big enough plant it under the body of the On30 2-6-0, or you could simpley try and add a trailing wheel to the Mogul to save money,

The Mike was a maybe, sinse BLI now has a light Mike as well as a Heavy Mike, so I'd rather buy that one.

As for the lightness, I'll see about adding weight to the 0-8-0 and Consol afetr I detail and repaint them if I choose to do so.

The Hudson will be bought regardless of running problems, even if I have to keep in on the mantel above my fireplace.

I'll tell you what I know.

The 4449 is the sole survivor of the GS-4 Class. That is why you can find lots of info on it.

The 4446 suffered the fate of all other GS engines. It was scrapped and was turned in to soup cans, can openers, and washing machines.

It may be Blunt, but its the truth. I dought you'll find out more than that, unless the loco did something famous in is operating career.

Hey Ya'll,

I'm back. For those of you who can't guess who I am, I used to be Thomas Fan and then GW-2-10-0#90 or something like that. I decided to re-register with my screen name from just about everyforum I am on.

I have been admiring IHC's steamers for a while, and I am consiering buying a Southern Railroad 2-8-0, as well as a Mike, and the 0-8-0.

But in the recent Model Railroader, I saw a Southern Streamlined Hudson in IHC's add and I have already locked up $100 so I won't spend it.



How do IHC's locos run? Detail isn't a big thing, as I can always re-paint the locos and add detail parts, which I planned to do with all but the Hudson.

Weather or not it runs good I'm buying the Hudson to have, but if the others run good then I'll ckeck them out too.
