I guess that tells the story, piano wire the correct size some fooling around and finger flick switch.  no mist'y just could not see what kept the points held in place. my switchs are 40 yrs old or more so no spring loading .thank you all. will let you know how I make out.Grz

 first let me apologize for not giving information one could understand. there is no room to do any of the sugestions that were  offerd, NO-ROOM for any of those ideas. now to find this layout in Maine, ho logging allagash new switching andover Maine. this is a wonderfull little set up. Im a dummy when it comes to confuzers ect  my wife foun out how to make our T V work this u  tube. boy you wont believe what you can find here. and NO-ADVERTISING  ether..thank you all Grz

 Had new knees installed, this gave me some tv time, love that u tube, watching a sweet logging set up from  down Maine, called alagash logging. wow if only I could find out how he changed the peco switchs to do that trick I have a dbl crossover in a tight spot and no room for switch stands. been setting that way for years now, no room from under side eather.  not flexable enough to reach in eather..when I bult this  layout 4'1\2x7' set up I wanted to slip one train into the inner track [good timeing] and the inner to the outer  track. now that I converted to dcc using the dynmas system I think that would be the cats meow.   Ive tried a few things none worked very good. I have 36 foot stock  cars  and 4-4-0s that work very well for me. thank you very much for any help. GRZ.   

  perhaps this might help another, I truly like my dynamis  however I have] many  older dc locos that are just setting, and the cost of conversion is more than there worth, my layout is but 5'x7' with the dcc dynams I can operate five trains, [if Im left alone that is. ] in my dads  pile of stuff I found a wonderfull brass switch that is a complete disconnect for ether side, and in hooking this up I can now operate my lovely ole brass locos. on the same layout. now this this is where things can [and did ] go wrong. one time I forgot to turn the power off on the dynamis  when I switched to dc transformer .is says in your directions DO NOT TURN POWER ON UNTILL YOU PLUG THE TRACK IN.. I heard this strange sound that came from the dcc recever, as it was dieing. what a lost feeling let me tell you, those wonderfull folks at the Bachmann shop in Phily had me back rail roading in no time.at a very reasonable cost too. Bachmann your the best! GRZ.

Hi, Im told the dynamic control can be set over so when you turn away from the power supply for a bit longer than a second or two the the train will stay running. pg 19 in the manual [in my thoughts is not very clear as to how to do this] im a bit polish , so can someone help ? thank you Grz

wow- very interesting, I have the same 2-8-0 and the same problem, iv had it apart many times looking, and never did it run any different. I love this thing BUT! the guys at the club [in a nice way] say don't bring that thing back till its fixed. I hope you can come up with a fix .my 2-8-0 is on display at the station. would love to out it back in service. good luck. GRZ.

richg--what years was you visit's and did you get to meet any of the crew? there were some very neat guys there. Fred Bailey and I are the only ones left from those days that I know of. Fred lives in Enfield N.H.I think, see him every so oftin, a bunch of guys are trying to get a club going in Windsor V.T. and see him there. a very knowledgeable  individual, he was fireing when I worked there.  Greg. 

Just a little blurb on the 4012. I worked with Ed-Mead at steam town in bellows falls V.T. in the 60s, Nelson Blount was buying up every steamer he could ,at the time, I remember  the day they moved the 4012 in to the yard--wow & holey WOW! we had to move her every year or so as she would lean because of the soft ground, then a few months later we would shove her back, then one day Bob Barbara[ head honcho at the time] had the piston rods cut off with a torch because some one told him she was stuck--when all that was the matter there were chains laid in front & rear of the drivers-as tho she would have run off. to this day when I think of that it makes me mad. ugly  even.! a friend  of mine & I are planning a trip to hug the 4014, that will make two for me . hope I live long enough to see one steaming , what a thrill that would be. hope Steve Lee pulls the throttle on her first run, that would be super...Greg

 man sounds like what I just went through, I e raced  [foolishly in a hurry] some of my saved notes ,when I tried to log on it said welcome guest, I tried every pass word I could think of, now I  have it taped to my confuzer. it shook me up so bad my wife e- mail d  someone--never heard from them-- it shure is a lost feeling, I enjoy this forum, im 78 and just getting started in dcc- been rail roadin  over 60 years, O-ga-HO-and 1-1/2- and 4-8-1/2- when I can. at Clarks in Lincoln N-H. its been a wonderfull trip--    Rich just read your bout with your eyes God bless you and thank you so very much for all the times you help t every one in this  wonderfull past time, Grz 

  HI bolto-r-r-man, you are lucky to find one in any  condition today, I had  to sell my layout -30 years ago. and being a Lincoln collector that was one thing I hated to let go, but, a year or so back I got a call from the man that bought my layout asking if I would like to buy it all back. well when I went to clinch the deal not only was all my things there but over the years his kid bought him things for his layout that never got  bult  [2 big pickup truck loads] when I got going through the haul I found my 16 wheel  Lincoln car STILL-IN-THE-BOX,  I watched  them come and go on the bay thinking should I ?? well I did, now  have two, and glad of it. my original is in the box in my special glass show case to be looked at every April 15 th  from this past april on it will make a run around the layout-- to me they are a special reminder of a great man . The one I got from the bay I installed link & pin couplers, and took a early look alike and bult a monitor roof, they make a neat duo behind a 4-4-0. Grz
