I don't see 'Old Shape Henry' or Splatter/Dodge happening any time soon. Not many younger fans will know why Henry is in a different shape, and some might assume it's a different character altogether, but with the same name. Think the two 'Olivers' on Sodor.
'Splodge' and the other TATMR characters seem unlikely too. The only one among them to still be in the series is Diesel 10, and I doubt he'd be included due to the small parts that would be used for his claw (more moving parts often means easier to break), and he doesn't seem as popular or as well-known as characters like Paxton, Oliver, Hiro, or even 'the background tank engines' Rosie and Stanley.
They do call the hobby 'modeling', I'm sure one could 'bash together their own OSH, or repaint a pair of Diesels into 'Splodge' as I've seen done very well in the past, if they wanted. Or even Daisy. I liked SodorOrient's Daisy a great deal.

I see Pax' making his way into the range in the future. After all, as it's been said, all that would be needed is a simple repaint and a new face, plus those red coupling rods.. !
Oliver and Toad will find their way in too, I imagine, for the reasons Chaz has gladly given us. I should like to see how they do with Ollie. Hopefully he won't have the handrails poking in his forehead, like the 'other brand's 'model, though I hope it lives up to the otherwise overall awesomeness that is our Ol' Ollie :)

I should expect he'd look good with those Red Coaches coming out soon..

I'd also expect a Troublesome Truck #5 to come along. What van it would be and what face it would sport I'm sure we can all debate upon.

Perhaps we'll see another figurine or a road character to come along too. I'd like to see Trevor, or perhaps.. George?

I agree with all thoughts on the Large Scale Range. Personally, I would like to see Diesel oil his way into the range.

Happy New Year all, I hope this year is a great one for the Bachmann Range, the people who work so hard to give us these models, and.. well.. everyone :p

The coaches they are referring to are these:

Seen frequently in the show from Season 2- onward.

They're the same coaches Duck almost hits in 'A Close Shave', and the same kind you see him pulling later on in Seasons 3, 4, etc.

I'm really happy Bachmann are doing these. More coaches for engines to pull along the line, and they look good coupled behind any of the engines!

I hope this helps :)

It is ridiculously hard to tell what sort of expression is on the new Troublesome Truck.
It's almost as if the mouth has been blurred on purpose, to keep us guessing!
I'm going to bet that it's smiling, though.
Shame. We need more scowling, mean-looking Troublesome Trucks behind (or in front of) our engines.

I quite agree about the faces on Arry and Bert. Better the CG smiles than those cheesy CAE smiles. At least here I can squint and imagine them looking meaner.

Can't wait for those coaches or those buildings either. The coaches would look great behind Duck, Edward, James.. or being stolen and hidden in the sidings by Arry and Bert :p

Yes indeed, sodorfan!
They were the coaches Duck was about to crash into before being sent into the barber shop siding.
They have appeared rather frequently throughout the series. "Percy and the Bandstand" featured one of the brake coaches I believe, and engines in the CGI series have been seen pulling them quite often too.

I am very pleased to hear the news about the coaches and I hope we see promo images for them very soon :)

I hope sometime soon Gordon's Express Coaches come back, preferably with a different tooling. I like the express coaches Bachmann released, don't get me wrong, but I feel they could be a little, erm, better, as far as design goes.

Gordon's got the Special Coaches like the kind Spencer pulls and for the moment I think that's alright, and I'm sure there are still lots of coaches out there waiting to find a good home, but Gordon needs his Express in one way or another.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Troublesome truck loads

I'm not a railway modeler (yet, hoping that will change soon), but I would think if you're thinking just to cover the top of the wagon like that on your standard 7-plank Troublesome Truck or other wagon, a piece of fabric cut just larger than the top of the wagon, held down by some string or floss perhaps would do the trick.
If the load was something bulky, like crates, then perhaps some small cardboard box-like shapes or even LEGO bricks covered the same way would work, I would think.

I hope this helps.

I wonder what the sound will be like for the model.
The model's overall appearance will probably stay the same as the original model, though I think the face will receive a CG update.
I wonder if the sound part will be anything like the Talking Take-N-Play engines? Wheels go round, a 'chuff' noise comes out whenever the wheels complete a rotation.. maybe a 2-second wheesh when the engine starts or stops, just like in the show?

If this is a speed-activated sound engine as I am pretty sure I've read before, I'm not sure how that will work, but I'm pretty sure kids running the trains slow will still want to hear the same sounds as if the train was going fast.

I wonder if they'll include the whistle somehow. Hmm.

Maybe their pictures will be a surprise around Christmas..
I do hope they arrive soon. I bet most of the other engines wish otherwise :p

Don't forget about the off-rail characters!
Brenner reintroduced Duck, Harvey, Bill and Ben, but he did also bring back Jack as well.

I think if anyone on the road is to return it ought to be Terrence the Tractor(whose Bachmann model looks terrific), or perhaps Alfie to join Jack?

There was a picture of some wooden railway items in prototype stages that showed Bulstrode with a CG-looking face.. kind of doubt he'll return though.

My bet for engines is that Arthur will make a return at some point in the future, seeing how his line is already rendered and all, or perhaps we'll be totally surprised. Never know!

Sparks, the kit-van looks great. Positively perfect.
Have you a face selected to use on the van?

And Shawn, I'd love to see more of your CG models. Just saying :)

AND I'M BACK!
For a moment.

Now that I know Arry and Bert are no longer on the waiting list, and Jeremy(for some  reason) is coming along.. my wishlist hasn't really changed.

Oliver, BoCo, Stepney and perhaps Rosie are still in place for the engines I think would be most likely(slash)/that I would want to come next, as are the 'Tree/Scrap/Bogie.. whatever that reeeally long wagon from "Henry's Forest" is called, The Red Branch Line coaches, The Breakdown Crane(or at least The Works Coach), and of course, Toad, to go with Oliver.

The same views still apply for the road characters. I'd like to see Bulgy and Trevor make their way in to the range, or a 'Horrid Lorry'(make Lorry 1 and you could easily repaint the numbers on the plates to 2 and 3), but I would like to see Elizabeth make her way in as well. It's something about her paintwork and the character in general that appeals to me, and certainly would appeal to the younger collectors as well!

I like the Large Scale, though I don't and probably will not be collecting them any time soon(I need the moneys), but an engine like Diesel and The Works Coach would work rather well I think as additions to that range.

Really thinking about it, out of all the not-so-likely engines that Bachmann could make in the HO range, I'd be jumping for joy if they made Daisy(because of her low front, I find it hard to imagine where they'd put her loop coupler), The Diesel, Stanley, Molly, or even Whiff.. One can dream, though, can't they?  ;)

Same face for the first, different truck. I do recall that, though, and I would like to see it.

I'd forgotten about the second haha. Their faces looks so different, though!

I think I'd like to see a grumpy or angry Troublesome Truck face.

As much as I want to see that massive laughing van appear in the range, I think it's more likely the Salt Wagon will be re-released as the next Troublesome Truck.
I'm kind of hoping it'll be this guy-

-what with the silly expression and all. But, I'm expecting it to be more like this guy right here-

-larger face and all.
That, and this larger face could be implemented on to another truck, like the big boxy one previously talked about- one mold for two trucks!

I would like to see one with one of the narrower faces.. not like the trucks that donned Toad or Bulstrode's faces, though that was funny.
I mean more like.. this!

Just to mix things up a little.

Guess all we have to do now is wait to see what they(Bachmann) have in store for us!

I think the chances for Lady to return to the show ever are minuscule at best, much less being made in HO.
She hasn't appeared in a special in years, she's barely 10 lines in all of her roles combined, and I don't think younger children- which the range is aimed at- would recognize her as easily as other characters like Emily, Spencer, Duck, or even the Iron Twins that will be released later this year.

If Bachmann did make their own Lady, I imagine they would do a superb job, but for now if you really want a Lady all your own, the best way would be to 'bash' one together. There are a few people out there who have made their own Ladys before, they've got posts instructing how to do the job and pictures to guide you along during the process. And if you don't want to make one completely on your own, you can always repaint some OO scale model train and add a face to it, simple as that, so at least you can have a representation of the character running around on your layout.

I know everyone has some characters, rolling stock, buildings, etc. they desire from the range, and everybody should get a word in as to what they want, but in my opinion, I don't think a Bachmann Lady will be coming round the bend any time soon.

'Brake Van', was it?

"Sir Topham Hatt sent me to help clear away this mess."
