In the time period I model ,CONOCO uses C.O.N.X reporting marks.

I have all of the bachmann cars in multiple. I have renumbered more than a dozen cars but I really have better things to do with my scarce modeling time. I agree that a collector set of unique numbered cars would be a good seller. UTLX,SHPX,GATX,NATX etc. were pretty common.

I am planning on buying some of the Frontenac cars in the near future and turning them into DX cars (COSX). The Frontenac cars have a defective numbering anyhow , all of them need numbers changed because the side reporting marks don't match the end reporting marks (at least on the ones I have). I like the Bachmann cars , I think they out class the microtrains cars in many regards, the only thing I do not like about them is the underframe-trucks-wheels and oversized couplers. These are all things I can and do adjust to my personal liking. I only wish for more variety in the paint schemes and numbers. I would LOVE to see Bachmann do some Diamond DX -Mid Continent COSX cars with the red Diamond or even the yellow lettered DX cars in multiple numbers .. That would save me LOTS of time.

I run with computer generated switch lists and car cards. Seldom will they run as a block unless there is a block coming off interchange for multiple customers. I've spent my entire life on the railroad , I'm anal about these things..

In My opinion the newest Bachmann N scale 10,000 gallon single and triple dome tank cars are very nice, I have collected multiples of all of them and I am still wanting.

Perhaps its time for Bachmann to enter the limited edition collector stuff aimed at model railroaders , They now have the quality product to do so. Perhaps a set of three different numbered cars in a set, or 12 different numbered cars either individual or in 6 packs or whatnot. I would buy many more if I didn't have to change numbers on the cars.

I would look forward to additional paint schemes on the cars as well. Mr. Bachmann , why stop at 6 single dome and 5 triple dome cars when you could sell dozens more with different car numbers and some new paint schemes?

I got three ordered to start with, the PQX,TROX,and CCBX... It looks like the number font used for the PQX car is easy enough to change numbers.

I'll probably try to convert a couple to 2 dome cars. Its nice to have some raw material to work with. I like the style of dome on the bachmann car , I don't think this one has been done before.

I have fifteen of the new 10,000 gallon cars so in my opinion its time for some new roadnames and or numbers. I have all 3 of the Spartan oil cars, my information shows that there were no more.

One small detail concerning the Frontenac cars, the reporting marks on the cars are different on the sides and ends of the cars. I had to renumber the ends. The numbers should match I would think.

The Simonin cars look great (especially with a little bit of weathering( , I'm looking forward to a long cut of these cars. The cars have great detail, perhaps Bachmann would consider factory weathering on these new cars, it really does bring out the detail !!

The Budd cars didn't have traction motors , they had hydraulic transmissions that had limited capacity. Gas electrics had conventional electric traction motors with some additional capacity. In the Budd operators manual it states that pulling cars can damage the unit and certainly void the warrenty.

I still would love to see a nice 4-8-4 mechanism that would be adaptable to a variety of boiler shapes (like an S-2 Milw engine). Different tenders and boilers could make dozens of 4-8-4s based on the same mechanism.

With all the new heavyweight passenger cars coming out from bachmann and micro trains it would be nice to have a bigger passenger engine too , I'm thinking 4-6-4 (Milw F-6)

On the Diesel side ALCo S switchers and FM H-10-44 switchers.

Baldwin road switchers would be awesome as well !

I have three of the undec engines , one of them has a hitch and I will be using the techniques described here to fix it . There's no way I'm sending it back !! Beautiful work Bachmann !!
