Thomas & Friends / Re: Some abandoned characters

However, after watching Hero of the Rails and Blue Mountain Mystery, the producers/directors from Nitrogen inserted easter eggs even for the people that grew up with the show to recognize, to know that they haven't been forgotten (like the use of the Steamworks as the RWS equivalent to Croven's Gate and Marklin engine seen at the Dieselworks). It was, in a way, something that I can enjoy as a 90's kid, while at the same time embrace the CGI series as a whole (and after seeing the trailer for KOTR, it sounds promising already).

It also goes to show that Bachmann decided to make Duck because the requests were so large, who wouldn't make the GWR for their 10th anniversary in the business?

I was really hoping that all of the models should've been on display, after all, the model series is history, so it would've at least give nostalgia to some of us that grew up with the classics......

I guess we will have to settle for Hornby Oliver and Toad for now, and red paint and extra Annies and Clarabels.  :-\
Yeah, to those that haven't even gotten Hornby Oliver and Toad, that's gonna be a fun little hunt, cause there's no way anyone like me would be able to find those two... So now, all I have to do is to wait for next year....

I'm sure they'll make him either next year or at least in the future. After all, he would be the second most requested after Duck was in that respect. It'll require a bit of new tooling to even make Oliver for the most part, so perhaps they decided to make Arry and Bert since they would just have to have Diesel's reused body, with some minor modifications. Besides, they'll at least get the majority of the classic characters out of the way to then plan out the future with the new/CGI characters as of the present.

Maybe have the top part be empty and then the rest of him filled in (just like Thomas and Percy, since their cabs are only visible at the top part, while the bottom parts are just full of plastic, if you get my meaning...).

Well, then again, if ya think about it, Spencer would only need one coach because it's enough for just the Duke and Duchess of Boxford. It's not like they needed two or three (pretty much overkill for only two people)... So in a way, I could see why they don't have a brake coach.

It also makes me wonder whether or not that Arry and Bert will have the same facial expression, with minor differences (like Donald and Douglas) or different facial expressions (like Bill and Ben).

Thinking about their side rods, the majority of the engines that have side rods have always been silver. So I don't think Bachmann would change that, at least since it's a pattern that's noticeable on the engines that have side rods.

That's an exception. They at least painted James'  smoke box black, the way it's supposed to be (and even made his middle wheel flange-less, perfect when going over tight turns). :P

Besides Spencer's Special Coach, which is the only sort of big coaches in the range at the moment.

Well, considering that Arry and Bert themselves had black side rods, it's possible that they would get black ones, but we'll see after (or at least eventually) the promo pics for the third set of twins arrive on the good ol' internet.

In a way, they are. They appeared in Season 5, still a bit more memorable than other characters that appeared in the post Season 7 series. And it's fitting because Cranky, who was released at the beginning days of the range, is also from Season 5, with them appearing a bit frequently in the current series more or less.

Well, it'll depend on whether or not it successfully sells with the right ingredients mixed in (updated for example from the current look).

Yes, I'm curious as well...

It also makes me wonder if they'll have the classic series faces (they were the small rectangular shaped ones) or the CGI style faces (where their faces were close to Diesel's size....). Idk, I mean there was a significant difference when they transitioned from Season 12 to Season 14 and people seemed to have noticed that their faces became a tad bigger, so that's something I'm curious on...

Highly doubt it.... Although they could at least make the snowplough separate like they did with the Large Scale models...
