HO / Switching Truck Side Frames On A F7A
February 17, 2020, 08:24:25 PM
Purchased a DC Ringling Brothers F7A back when I first started. Now that I've gone full DCC I purchased a DCC Santa Fe F7A and switched the bodies. The original Ringling Brothers had silver side frame trucks while the Santa Fe had black side frames. Can they be switched and if so, what will it take?
Thanks in advance.

HO / DCC Sound Value On Board
January 05, 2020, 12:38:41 PM
Hi Everyone,

Is 'DCC Sound Value On Board' as shown in the Bachmann Train Catalog the same as 'DCC W/Sound'. Question came up on an item For Sale on eBay (a new Bachmann F7A). Seller says that it contains Sound Value which is SoundTraxx Diesel sound package with Proto 567 prime mover, 3 air horns and bell in 16 bit sound.

Thanks

HO / Gandy Dancer - Item 46223
December 09, 2019, 04:04:49 PM
Just purchased the Gandy Dancer as a Christmas present for my grandson. I did a test run before wrapping and it seems to have a problem. In one direction it runs smoothly but when changing direction it runs in a jerky motion and is a bit noisy. Could the gears need a need a little lube? Any help will be appreciated.

HO / EZ Track Switch Controller
November 17, 2019, 10:19:58 AM
Any suggestions on where I can find the EZ Track Switch Controllers? This is the one that the green 3-wire plugs into. I don't believe the have an individual part/item number.

HO / Turnout Equivalent Radius
September 09, 2019, 09:47:11 AM
What is the radius of the curved section of a #4, #5and #6 turnout? I know that on a 44561/44562 it is the same as an 18".

What is the difference between the two?

Rich, On the back of the power pack there are 2 female plugs, one labeled '16V AC IN' and one labeled 'To Track'.  The are also two spring loaded '16V AC Accessories'.

Can this power pack be repaired or should I just replace? The 'To Track' female connector looses contact with the male plug due to usage.

HO / EZ Track Switches
June 01, 2019, 07:15:11 PM
I have a fairly large HO layout using EZ Track. I'd like to setup all turnouts to be remotely activated. I looked at using the Bachmann Green Wire extensions to reach the turnouts but the cost is prohibitive ($10 for a 10' extension). I have 30+ turnouts. I'd like to make my own extensions. Does anyone know of wire connectors that will work with the very small wire gauge used by Bachmann? I've tried the standard connectors sold by Lowes/Home Depot/hardware stores/etc that are rated for 22 ga wire but the crimp doesn't always hold tight.

HO / Multi-Block Wiring Using EZ Track
January 11, 2019, 11:48:11 AM
I've built a large HO layout (12 x 16 U-shaped) using EZ Track. I didn't want to use the Power Terminal track due to cost so I've had to solder all the power/siding leads. Right now I've got 20 individual blocks plus 1 reversing  loop. Soldering track connections is not my expertise. Some are pretty good/ok others are not ok, a few plastic ties melted, etc. It would be great if Bachmann had a low cost track power connection similar to other brands, Atlas comes to mind, that would allow the wire to be screwed to the track. I tried using the pre-soldered track connectors but the wire was so thin it would break very easily. Just a suggestion.

Thanks
