Thomas & Friends / Re: The Great Race Thread

I hope not. Though, in the end, I doubt it. Just a few things considered, how many of us were a bit concerned that Bill and Ben would stay blue after the events of Bill or Ben? Since they returned to their regular colors after that episode, then I'm guessing Gordon will regain his normal shape after The Great Race (correct me if I'm wrong about how streamlining locomotives works).

I know if I pick up a Refrigerated Car, I'm definitely going to use it as a Flying Kipper van.

Nice collection! What did you use for the coal loads?

@mully: With all due respect, I'm frankly guessing that TT#5 will be an open wagon, mostly because of how common they are in the show, and that we haven't seen a Troublesome Truck that wasn't an open wagon since Season 7, I think. But please, don't get me wrong, I would love to see a vent van or a tanker be used for TT#5. :) After all, Bachmann does pull lots of surprises on us ;)

HO: So another salt wagon and cattle wagon, like repaints of the first? Cool! :) Can't wait to see Troublesome Truck #5, and I would say Rosie was a bit of a surprise, but I know Bachmann will do great things for her. Also, what would the refrigerator car look like?

Narrow Gauge: How'd I guess Rheneas was next? Good choice, though, and it's cool to see the slate cars as rolling stock (they've always been my favorite Skarloey Railway rolling stock for some reason)

Large Scale: I think DCC sound for Thomas and Percy is great! After all, I'd assume their large bodies would enable more room for sound chips and the like.

All in all, looking forward to seeing these products :)

I myself honestly would love to see Daisy for the new announcements, mostly because it would add another diesel and another female engine to the range. Plus, she would be the first large diesel for Bachmann.

But, in the end, I'm sure there may be some surprises in store for us this year. (Winston's announcement last year, anyone? ;) )

It's because it makes him too tall for the British loading gauge

Even though it would be awesome to have Diesel 10 in Bachmann's range, I doubt he'll be made mostly because of Pinchy. Pinchy would be an issue because it might make Diesel 10 too tall to fit through tunnels, into shed stalls, etc. (Not to mention that the TTTE Wikia says Pinchy is an illegal modification, anyway).

That's also the case with Emily's coaches, isn't it?

RE: Metal

Sliding door cars for Bachmann's range is a great idea! Why I think this is because I think it would be a nice gimmick, and it would reflect real railways.

P.S. I honestly think there should be individual coal/gravel loads for open wagons.

RE: Jacob Wilson

I am aware that Bachmann Junior models aren't as detailed as other British locomotives. However, I feel that they would fit perfectly if one models Sodor.

they make a very rare appearance in the us market...

Where do they show up, and where would be the best place to find them?

Yes, Toad is a brake van. And Oliver is the one who pulls him (in the original books, he became Douglas' brake van)

Just out of curiosity, how big is Bachmann Skarloey compared to his ERTL model? A picture would be nice :)

Frankly, I'm glad they have this piece of rolling stock. For one thing, no one would have to either customize a regular mail car or buy a utility wagon elsewhere. Plus, if I obtain one, I'm totally going to use it for a Flying Kipper van.

But I will note how it's green. Bachmann seems to like green rolling stock (Troublesome Trucks #3 and #4, anyone?) ;)
