try EbaY      i just got some 28r curves just this week     Dave

I've tried three eBayers so far with no luck but these are in Australia to save me on postage.
I may have to try international but it gets a tad expensive  :-\

most of us using a full featured dcc system like dynamis use the locomotive's number as its address. that makes it easy for anybody running trains on your layout to run the trains.

Clever idea, thanks.

Is there a known problem?

I guess not.

Reviving this thread to ask one question.

Do Kadee uncouplers suit E-Z track?
If so what type?
The Bachmann HO 78999 Magnet is hard to come by so looking for an alternative.

HO / Re: DCC double crossover with reversing units

To me that looks like a combination of a left and right crossover and a 30 degree crossing and therefore no reversing required.

General Discussion / DCC Dynamis Controller roster
June 15, 2013, 08:26:18 PM
I run four locos using the Dynamis controller.
Their addresses are 1, 2, 3 & 4.
When cycling through the roster the order is 1, 2, 4, 3.
I'd like to have them in numerical order but when I delete loco 4 and add it again the order doesn't change.
Any help appreciated.

General Discussion / EZ Track shortage?
June 15, 2013, 08:20:39 PM
I'm in Australia and tried to order some track among other things from a local supplier and received this response.

There is some manufacturing problems currently causing issues for the worldwide supply of the Bachmann EZ track.
We heard back from the suppliers and they said it would be 2 or 3 months before we got one of the sections, and then several more before we got the other three.

The order included:-
1 x 44510 Nickel Silver 9in. Straight Terminal Rerailer W/Wire (1/Card)
1 x 44530 Nickel Silver 18in. 10° Rad Curved Track (4/Card)
1 x 44506 Nickel Silver 28in. 18° Rad Curved Track (4/Card)
1 x 44509 Nickel Silver 33.25in. 12° Rad Curved Track (4/Card)

I'm also having trouble getting Bachmann HO 78999 Uncouplers.

Is there a known problem?

HO / Re: General Wheel Cleaning

I would be very careful with acetone around plastic. It's used as a nail polish remover not to mention cleaning and removing fibreglass resin. Potent stuff but at least it evaporates very quickly.

Durability. Metal lasts longer than plastic.

That reminds me longhaul. Make sure they are metal if you intend to use magnetic decouplers.

General Discussion / Re: ez-track

Thanks for the tips but I may have found a solderless solution.

The Dynamis Handset has two connectors for track power.
One is the 3.5mm jack I'm using now and another next to it for a screw terminal (supplied with cable).
The manual diagram say to use one or the other but I'm now wondering if I could use both and connect to another terminal track with the second wire.

Another option is to connect in series rather than parallel as the terminal tracks have a connector on both sides.

Are these viable option?

General Discussion / Re: couplers
June 01, 2013, 08:50:40 PM
Everyone, including manufacturers have their own idea on the best coupler for the job as well as being prototypical.
From what I have read Kadee seem to be the most liked and one reason I chose Bachmann was it's easy to lay track and their rolling stock couplers are Kadee compatible.
To make things worse, having a brand car or loco doesn't necessarily mean it has a standard coupler as these can be changed very easily. They are just fastened by one screw.
What couplers you decide on is up to you, just make them all the same.
One other thing. I've been told even the height of couplers can vary, not just the coupling method.

I was hoping Bachmann had something I could use rather than "butcher" the modular system they have already created. Perhaps extra feeders aren't required with their setup.

Bob-

It's not butchering; it's saving a great deal of money.

......... That means you may be stringing new feeders under your completed layout, feeders which wouldn't be needed if they were installed when it was easy to do so, i.e., now.

Perhaps I should explain in more detail.
The cost isn't important. The layout is and always will be temporary and on the floor. This is why I chose Bachmann E-Z track. I also like to change the layout for variety.
I have a Marklin Z scale permanent set-up and everything for multiple feeders (I have 5) is supplied by Marklin, I just assumed Bachmann would have these items as well.
The E-Z Command Dynamis system is touted as modular, catering for expansion to larger layouts and more locos.
I like plug 'n play so one would assume it would also have a feeder distribution system in place.
I want to sort this out before getting the Dynamis Pro and 5v Booster as I plan to add a third oval for a total of about 60 meters of track and a couple more locos. I have four now.
