HO / Bachmann 1300 Metroliner
April 01, 2016, 01:23:29 PM
I have a 4 pc set of Bachmann Metroliners with the power car being item #1300 that I have had since the 80's. I am looking for any instruction sheets or parts breakdown sheets of this set. I looked on the Bachmann website and also HOseeker but could not find any information on these cars. I am looking for info in regards to servicing the power unit and I am looking for info to remove the coupler gear system to the trucks so that I can use body mount  Kadee couplers and to replace the original whelsets with Kadee wheels on the dummies.

Rogertra, I agree that foam board is normally used behind walls. I also have to say that the wood, plastic items and cloth items on our layouts and the carpet in our rooms are just as dangerous in a fire. I think that all of us should have a working smoke dectector with a fresh battery in it in the room and a in date fire extinguisher that is sized for our room.

General Discussion / Re: Instruction Sheet

Thanks to both of you who responded. I have looked at those items. What I was hoping to find was a sheet listing how to maintain the loco in regards to cleaning, oiling and using the smoke unit. I am trying to set up a binder with all the info that the various locos, accessories , buildings and track that I have so that in the future my grandchildren would have some info on all items of my layout.

General Discussion / Instruction Sheet
March 12, 2016, 05:41:35 PM
I would like to know how to obtain a manual for a Bachmann steam engine. I had to send a older one in for warranty and they sent a replacement that I am happy with but would like to have some paperwork for this engine. I have looked at Hoseeker but it only has a parts breakdown. The engine is a Overland 4-8-4 non DCC.

I would like to thank everyone for their input. It appears that I will do the ballast like everyone suggested because the ballast spreader does seem a lot more work for such a small area. THANKS

Has anyone used this item to apply ballast and glue to HO EZtrack? Comments or suggestions appreciated. It looks like I could do a lot of track work fast and easy.

HO / Bachmann 1435 Diesel Horn
February 02, 2016, 02:59:02 PM
I found a Bachmann # 1435 diesel horn that had been packed away from the 1980's. Three of the four wires came off the circuit board when I removed it from the box. I searched the forum and could not find any info as to this unit. Anyone have any suggestions?

General Discussion / Dremel Tool
January 14, 2016, 04:39:30 PM
I am looking to purchase a new Dremel tool and kit and was wondering what people are using now for HO? Better to go with corded or battery and what attachments that I should make sure I have. My old cord model has died.

Did Bachmann ever make a HO K4 with dual DC/DCC decoders?

HO / 806 Tender Wheels
December 19, 2015, 04:58:51 PM
I want to replace the plastic wheels on the tender for the Overland 4-8-4 with metal wheels. The tender has 6 axles. Suggestions for what type? I searched Bachmann and could not find metal wheels for this tender.

General Discussion / Bachmann Service Center
December 18, 2015, 01:13:47 PM
I would like give my appreciation and thanks to the Bachmann Service Center. I sent in an 4-8-4 Niagra from the 1990's that had quit working. After finding out that there were no parts for that loco the staff offered to replace it with an Overland 4-8-4. I want to thank Beatrice and Laura for their help in completing this process and receiving this loco before Christmas so my grandchildren could appreciate it. I know that this is probably a very busy time but I wanted to thank all involved. :)

HO / Re: Wye Switch Connections

I used a 44511 9" section and 4 1/2" 44514 section on my wye. All I had to do was trim the inside roadbed on the 44514 to fit with the 9" 44511. If you have a remote #5 turnout it comes with a short straight to make up the track and underneath are scribe lines to show where to cut the roadbed to fit to the turnout. I just transferred those markings to my 4 1/2 but you could do the same thing and have 2 9" straights off of the wye.

I saw that loco on that website when I was looking for a breakdown of a GG1 that I also have. The picture in the diagram shows deflectors on the front of the boiler that my unit does not have on it. Are they interchangeable and could not find a disassembly guide.
