If you do an internet search for "canopy glue", you will find many sources.

You can't connect bachmann track to LGB unless there is a piece of track that can put the two together
Bachmann brass track should connect to LGB track. I don't have any LGB, but they are both 332 brass.

Received info from Kevin Strong and he uses 14.8 volts with his battery powered loco.

Thanks all who gave of their expertise and time.

Do you or Kevin plan on sharing the information with the rest of us?

Loco Bill seems to be able to lend good information on most issues brought up on this forum.  I wonder if he might be able to 'chime in' on this issue.  My concerns in jumpering the battery voltage to J1  pins 6 & 7 is the amount of Voltage.  I am using a 14.8 volt battery.  Will that cause magic smoke?  Hate to 'burn up' the Bach board and/or the Revolution Rx with the wrong voltage or connections.

You didn't say that this is a PNP engine. Since you talked about pins 6 & 7 I guess it is. If you look at the DC PCB you removed you will see that it applies track voltage through a full wave bridge rectifier to pins 6 & 7. I just used a full wave rectifier to apply track voltage to pins 6 & 7 in my Bachmann 2-6-6-2 to get the lights to work. The rectifier is required when using track voltage because the track polarity changes. You MUST not apply voltage to pins 6 & 7 backwards. When you are using a battery the polarity will not change and you don't have to worry using a rectifier. If you connect the track connections to Pins 6 & 7 (instead of the battery directly) you can run track power or battery with the flip of a switch. The battery/track selection switch connects the track pickups or the battery to the track connections (pins J1-1 & J1-12). You MUST use a rectifier if you wish to use track power. These connections are pretty easy to trace on the PNP PC board.
IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT WHAT I AM TELLING YOU OR YOUR ABILITIES - DON'T DO IT!

Is this a PNP engine? I think you will find that B+ & GND are missing from J1 pins 6 & 7. The DC PCB provides this. When you removed this PCB to plug in the Revolution, you disconnected the B+ & GND. The revolution does not provide this. I believe you have to jumper the battery + & - to J1 pins 6 & 7. There were some discussions about this on Largescalecentral. Someone there had the same problem.
The answer is a little different if you are using track power.

If you still have trouble and can't get it to work, let me know and I will send you a link to build a circuit board that works the sensors, I have built 2 and it is very simple to build. The quartering is perfect too !
Mudhen
would you provide the link to the circuit board?
Thanks

These Bachmann Lil Big Haulers are very nice trains and a good value for the money.

I am planning on using a12V 4800mAH Li-ion battery from eBay, either that or 2700mAH NiMH tagged AA cells to make a 12V battery.
The limiting factor on voltage is the speed controller I am thinking of using it can only take a 12V input but can handle 20A, it for aircraft/boat R/C.

I don't think you will find a 12V Li-Ion battery. They are come in 3.7V steps. The next voltage below 14.8V would be 11.1V.

I don't use it, but doesn't Bachmann indoor steel track just plug together without using screws?
If you are setting this up indoors, I don't know why you can't use that. Maybe someone who knows
more about the indoor track can comment. It is available quite reasonable from The Favorite Spot
on EBay. They are a good and reliable Bachmann dealer.

Earl-

Remember that the Bachmann set tracks cannot be used outdoors. They are not UV
resistant and will deteriorate in no time flat. However, Bachmann now has a line of
track which will work outside. I haven't seen any yet, myself, but it should show up
on this web site soon. I see that the catalog says there are 18 large scale track items
but it shows only seven indoor items.

When you go to track under large scale, the top of the page says (7) Brass Track.
Click on that and it will show you all their brass track.
I have some of their brass track and like it very much. I can't wait until they make some switches.

;D I placed an order with Bachmann for some parts. It came rather quickly.
Everything was in good shape, but one item was missing.
I emailed them with the problem and they made a quick reply.
They would ship the missing item. My thanks to them.
Great to do business with.

Large / Bachmann 2-6-6-2 Speaker
December 08, 2012, 02:51:04 PM
I bought a Bachmann 2-6-6-2 and I want to put sound in it.
The space for the speaker is 3" in diameter by 21 mm thick.
I think I can put standoffs under the pc board to get a little more thickness.
Does anyone know where I can get a speaker to fit?

Large / Bachmann Spectrum 4-4-0
November 25, 2012, 05:07:37 PM
Has anyone put a TE Revolution in the Bachmann 4-4-0? Where do I start? How does someone figure out how to take it apart. The Bachmann drawings don't have the required detail. Does the Revo go in the engine or the tender? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tom
