Third track was added to Horseshoe curve in 1898, the fourth 2 years later in 1900 when the film was made.
I count 4 tracks in the clip.

No need to heat the iron up.
Just cut one.

Hi ejseider,

I get the 3/32 from Digi-Key and Ngineering.
Have not found smaller.
Don't bother with electrical tape, it gets gooey.
Instead try the liquid tape. Dries hard.

Good luck

Hi jimdavis88,

Turn the turnout upside down and remove the screws.
Observe the rack and pinion gears.
If you turn the turnout right side up with the cover plate off you will have a mess.
Don't ask...
Be careful and switch the routes.
It may be possible the pinion is a tooth off and either not fully throwing the points all the way over, or not holding them tight when they get there.
A decade or so I posted a picture of this, but alas, it's gone.
Thread was here;

The answer is in the exploded view.

Hi Woowoomowrer,

When you state "Broke" what exactly is broken on yours?
I don't know if another manufacturers' chassis would fit under your Life-Like shell.
I would guess all F7's would be close and might require minor surgery to fit.
I just looked on eBay, several LL F7's on there.
You could use one from there as a donor.

Good luck

Hi jcfreitas614,

Quotenot having at least a confirmation that a $200 train was received by the company can be a little unsettling.

Return receipt is always an option when sending anything through the USPS.
You would have had your conformation if it was received by Bachmann.

I wouldn't raise an eyebrow before 90 days turnaround, maybe even twice that.
Right now repair of a toy train is probably way down the priority list.

Hi jerry w,

Did you look at Reynaulds site?

PS   We are neighbors, I live just south of you in Seminole.

No need for soldering, you can use wire nuts.
Depending on running clockwise or counter clockwise only one siding works, meaning you can only reverse into one of them.
You need to re-think that plan so sidings can be backed into.
Replace that right hand turnout with a left for CW running, that would become a trailing point.

Good luck

It is possible to do as you are asking.
Is there some reason you can't just add wire, rather than having another switch panel?

Not sure why you can't find it.
The information is here, you have to look for it.
It will require some effort on your part.

Are you looking for just axle gears?

Quotehalfway decent runners

Quotesome with pretty good detail, but most of them had the problem of having their white nylon gears, which also served as the drive axles, split, which renders the locomotive useless

QuoteIt would be nice if we could get factory fresh replacements that match the geometry of the old ones, but made from the modern, more durable plastic.

Good luck with that coming from Bachmann.

I think you will have to look somewhere else.
Maybe here?

https://www.gearsmade.com/

I think Al is still in business.

Good luck in your quest.

Bachmann has always, and continues to, make entry level model trains.
That's their niche in the hobby, they own that.

I think your expectations maybe to high.

You get what you pay for.
Don't expect more than that.
They will not last your lifetime.
